Its history:-I bought in June 2020, having downsized from a bigger boat and wanted a smaller boat to keep at home and use occassionally. We have used it 3 times (twice on a lake last summer and this year at Salcombe around the estuary). Although built in 2011, it was in a showroom until 2014 when commissioned to a private owner who used only 40 hours and was kept indoors. I bought it from a dealer in June 2020. I had intended to keep it long-term for occasional use, but the reality is we will not use it much, if at all, going forward, and I would love it to go to a family who will get more pleasure from it.Hypalon tubes are the only choice for keeping the boat out in hotter climates and a much stronger hard-wearing material than PVC boats.This model has removable tubes and, should you need to repair them in the future, repair companies will guarantee the work with Hypalon tubes. This material is an expensive option on many modern 5 m RIBS.The hull has not been antifouled and has no marks or damage. It is solid with a thick GRP double skin and five-chamber half meter diameter tubes making the boat very capable in almost any condition. It is an ideal size RIB for sport and family fun as it is easily manageable single-handed, cheap to run, and a fantastic sea boat that gives you a really safe feeling with young on board. It is also ideal as a yacht tender, weighing 455kg as it is (600kg with the trailer).Avon Adventure RIBS are not available to buy new anymore, but this 470 hull is now used for the Zodiac Pro 500.The Pro 500 and Avon 470 are some of the most highly regarded RIBS built; they were designed to be tougher than the rest on the market, withstand rigorous safety tests, and have a higher level of quality than the majority on the market. No abrasive products have been used on the tubes, and they are in their original condition.Fitted with bow cushion, steering console with icebox cooler and cushion in front, large bench seat with folding backrest. Anchor and lines storage in bow locker, storage locker in front of steering console, 25-litre fuel tank in base of console and large storage locker in the bench seat. It comfortably seats 5 adults and has a payload of 9 adults.The engine is a real gem and starts the first flick of the key and runs quietly. It has plenty of power and accelerates very impressively, and is stable at speed.The throttle is very smooth. Hydro foils are fitted above the prop and give early planning and a smooth ride. The 40bhp is practical for this size of boat and ideal for watersports but low cost to run and maintain. Easy to tow behind medium size car and can be launched single-handed. Fits in our double garage when angled slightly.Avon RIBS hold their value well, and this package new (as an equivalent Zodiac Pro 500) would cost over £25,000 today.Happy to deliver within a reasonable distance in the UK.
