Avon Jet RIB 3.2/ Yamaha JD9 Serial No. GBAVB49705L405/ 68N-1014258NLength 3.2m Engine use approx. 52 hoursIt is in Brixham Marina, Devon.I have just bought a 58' Fairline Squadron yacht and this was on the back! It's a real machine but it's too fast for my young family. Apparently it will do speeds over 40mph?!
I do not know the age and it comes with no history but it looks in very good condition - the cushions are like new, no rips/ tears or scuffs in the tubes and they hold pressure. The hull seems pretty much unmarked.My mechanic friend has checked over the engine (new battery etc) and says "it just needs using - its a bit smokey at the moment, most likely its got some 'normal' 2 stroke engine oil in at the moment and it should have 'low smoke' 2 stroke engine oil". He also says "the carbs would do with a clearing out but otherwise is good to go".The engine fires up first time. A navigation light is also included. All electrics are working including the dash but the key has broken off in the lock.
It has a ski hook on the back to pull a water skier.The 'MarlieSkye' decal is temporary and will simply peel off.The previous owners of the Fairline Squadron were going to take it with them but decided to leave it on board as a 'deal sweetener' but it too fast for us so we will replace it with a small tender. Prepare to have some serious fun if you buy this jet rib!
