AVON SEARIDER SR4 An original, extensively refurbished boat with new 50HP outboard, trailer and cover. The boat is a 1987 SR4 rescue model, with original deck, transom and tubes that has been dry -stored all its life. It has the original tube ID number, original transom ID number stamped in the Aluminium and original transom ID tag. In the last year the boat has undergone a complete refurbishment. The hull has been professionally painted (Epoxy primed, 2k primed and finished in bright white).
It has a custom-made, white, GRP jockey console which uses the unique SR4 front end with the addition of a hinged front cover and comes equipped with two new shock mitigation seats. A new built-in stainless 30 litre fuel tank is fitted under the console, allowing a clear open deck. There is also a custom-made locker in the front which holds an optima yellow-top battery and isolator. The original tubes are all in amazing condition, with no patches and which hold air indefinitely. All the lifelines have been replaced with new black rope which have been correctly spliced.
In summary, the boat has been professionally finished to an amazing standard, all the weight well distributed that handles without fault and is capable of 45mph. The engine is a lightweight, 2020 Tohatsu MSF 50A EFI model, with electric start and trim/ tilt as standard and less than 15 hours running in time, equipped with bay star hydraulic steering. It has had its first service, which included an oil change and sparkplug replacement. The trailer is a new Indespension ‘Coaster Mini Swing’, fitted with rollers, winch post, sand hopper wheels and ‘Bearing Saver’ bearings. The boat also comes with a custom-made all-over cover, handmade in Weathermax 80, which is a lightweight, breathable material that covers both boat and engine.
As can be seen from the photos, this is not your average tired SR4, it is as near new as you will find, especially one that hasn’t been chopped about. The floor and transom are both bone dry with absolutely no rot, which is rare on these boats. The engine alone is worth nearly £7k, and with the work undertaken, new seats, custom console, locker, trailer (£1750 new) and cover easily exceeding what I am asking. I don’t think you will find another one like this. A new SR4 (now made by zodiac) will cost you £13.5k just for the hull alone and they are only rated to a 40hp (the original SR4s, as this one is, are rated to 50hp).
