Avon Seasport Hypalon Jet Rib Rigid Inflatable Boat Including Roller Trailer.

This Avon jet rib was a tender to a large motor yacht. The rib hasn’t had that much use judging by the condition of the hull and interior which are very good however, the rib came in to us as a trade in and a brief inspection shows a number of issues which would therefore make this a good boat project for someone to get the rib back up together for the Spring. From what we can see the rib was on davits and not secured properly which has damaged the tubes slightly on the port side but only rubbed the top coating of the Hypalon in a couple of small areas see pictures. These abrasions don’t leak.

The steering wheel has been bumped on the yacht's davits and is slightly bent which could easily be replaced and the remote morse control lever has been damaged and could be repaired but it may be better to replace the unit. This is loose and won’t operate properly and the cover has cracked. The steering cable has seized after some time standing, these are readily available on this website. There was and is no battery and there is an electrical fault which we haven’t investigated which means that when a battery is connected to the battery cables under the seat, there is no power to the gauges, switches or the starter. The engine won’t start or turnover on the button, it wasn’t running when it arrived and we have never had the engine running and cannot tell the condition of the engine or ancillaries as there is no power to the starter although the engine looks tidy under the cowl.

The bilge pump and bilge fan are missing but again cheap items on this website and the all round white light behind the seat is missing which would be a simple fix. Please note, this boat is sold as seen, there are no warranties or guarantees, it is a good basis for someone to get it back up together with some investigation and repair as it looks smart. Please only bid if you fully understand this is a non-runner, some items are missing, damaged or faulty and that there are no returns on this rib. It is sold as seen. The Indespension trailer is excellent and it tows really well as this is a 600kg trailer, it's substantial with 10” wheels and in excellent all round order with new hubs and bearings.

This particular model is the top spec combination with bench seating and console and bow seating for four as opposed to the cheaper jockey seat and handle bar model. They are very sought after and were expensive new and this deluxe model rarely comes up for sale. Designed as a superyacht tender the rib is fitted with davit lifting points and collapsible steering to lower the profile of the boat to store in the transom garage. This rib in this colour scheme would compliment any yacht. It weighs 250kg and will stow on deck, swim platform or davits.

It comes with a lifting sling (not checked) This boat is equally at home on the back of a yacht as it would be as a family rib for bay hopping and comfortable days out. The deck mouldings and fittings set this boat apart from the rest, with features such as flush pop-up cleats, interior lighting and the 3 chamber tubes. The rubbing strake is also in good condition which is rare for a yacht tender.This rib is so versatile, it is large enough to carry a family along the coast with luggage stowed in the lockers, they have stunning performance for watersports and will easily pull an adult on skis or wakeboard. It has ample power to throw the rib up onto the plane with four in the boat and offer the comforting thought that this is a totally safe rib with no propeller to cause any accidents when there are people in the water.
