Ex Rnli D Class Lifeboat

A rare find in this condition , Ex RNLI D class lifeboat, (avon EA16) Her no. Is D409 Taipan. She has been a life saving vessel and then kept by the RNLI relief reserve fleet for 10 years. The Engine is also ex RNLI with the inversion modifications, she is well used but been meticulously maintained and recently serviced. Holds air well.

She is in fantastic condition for her age, these boats cost over £33,000 new and are built to military specifications and made to thrive in the harshest of conditions. She is made from hypalon fabric and reinforced all over with 7 air chambers which are coned internally so If you did get a puncture only a small section would deflate. Taking her out in the surf is huge fun in this very safe boat. She comes with fuel bladders as apposed to hard tanks which are made specifically by the RNLI at great expense.Also included is the black rubber and foam floor mattress which takes the load off your knees as you slam down off the waves in big seas. She does come with a trailer but this is homemade for the boat but is serviceable and is very easy to launch and retrieve single handed.

A chance to own a piece of History with this superbly built boat which will still be going long after modern PVC foreign alternatives have fallen apart. Very capable of going out in the roughest of weather, towing a donut/skier or just sauntering up the river on a sunny day for lunch. She has a marine ply floor with a heavy duty inflatable keel and rub strake making it a lot lighter than most RIB's and easy to beach.
