Lovely Bayliner 2755, 91 shell. We have had this boat for the family now 4 years and time to move on to someone with the time she needs. Being sold as a project but actually a great vessel that just needs time spent on her and worth a lot of money when finished as some have been going for 15+ up to 25K for good examples. At the time this was the largest legally towable boat, make no mistakes its huge to tow and comes with the trailer which is huge itself. Running a 454 (7 litre v8 300Hp) big block motor with a Bravo 2 outboard, comfortable 4 berths with a double under the main deck and the forward table converts to a large triangle bed.
Equipment, - New last year VHF and antenna - Depth sounder - Hot/cold water - Toilet - Shower - Fridge - Hob, 220 and ethanol - Electric blown fan heater with thermostat control, ideal if you keep it at the house - Trailer tires all good as I fitted two brand new ones last week. These are high ply rating and Id happily tow her all the way south in current condition plus I have one spare. - Transom mount for back up outboard or a cruising outboard We took her out of Peterhead Marina just over a year ago, got her home and flushed out using the mufflers then parked up and sadly never looked hand at her since hence being sold as seen and to be taken as a project. She was running fine and everything worked as it should 1 year back, indeed drove herself onto the trailer but regardless will now need work. So bad points, - Engine turning over freely so 100% the engine is fine but the starter motor is not engaging.
I believe it needs shimming as standard on these big block engines. - Originally had a Bravo2 with a 1:1.5 drive but I fitted a 2.2:2 final drive as all I could source at the time. As a result the prop is too small and she cannot get onto the plane, it cavitates way too early. Either this needs a bigger prop (currently 17 inch I think) or replace with the outdrive with a 1:1.5 and I have the correct prop for that. This was my next plan, to source a prop but wasn’t using enough to justify putting her back into the water, too busy with work.
We just run her around the coast from Peterhead and she could do a steady 6-8 knots so for us was fine just pootling around and uses a lot less fuel! - Outdrive probably okay for a 3-4 seasons but a replacement will be needed at some point. The transom mount was brand new 5 years ago and still in very, very good condition. We changed the anodes last year and as you can see almost gone within a year but absolutely no degradation to the outdrive so perhaps you can use it for longer. - Battery charger not charging, could be a fuse but I just not got into checking - I have a rear cover also but was damaged in the winter and hence away to a seamstress for repair and should be back soon.
- Trailer is banging a little on the hitch which Im told is the damper. Still tows fine but is not an easy tow. I borrowed a pick up minus the canopy or if your brave could tow with a decent 4x4 saloon? Note I don’t have a lighting board. I did put in a charged battery (can take two with a change over switch, but both are dead) and all the lights came on bilge pumps working with the floats etc so pretty sure its quite good, things like water (as you can see the weather aint great) Ive not tried yet but its just a basic caravan style.
Im also told every boat is a project but this really is a gorgeous looking boat and could go into the water this season with not a lot of work May consider a P/X, actually looking for a digger for house work.As above, sold as seen. No Paypal, bank transfer or cash. If cash then £500 non refundable deposit within 24 hours end of auction, sorry but been messed around by too many clowns.
