Description:
Bayliner Classic 1600 Bowrider, year 1995, with 120Hp Force by Mercury 2 stroke outboard engine. NB. The boat is currently stored at out Caravan site in Saundersfoot and we will not be back down there until until late on 4th Sept so it will not be possible to collect until 5th Sep. Also, if not collected on the 5th Sept the collection will need to be arranged for a weekend after that as we will not be there during the week. September is forecast to be a sunny month, so there's still plenty of time to get some use out of the boat this season! I purchased this boat in 2018 and the family has had some great days out on it.I will try and be as detailed as I can in describing the boats condition as opposed to just saying "its in good condition for its age" as one persons expectations of a good condition 26 year old boat may vary from another's. I don't think you will find a 26 year old boat in "as new condition" so what I'm describing is probably typical with older boats in this price category if not much better. The upholstery could do with some work in places as there are rips in the "seat backs" on the back 2 seats and also a small rip in the bow (see pics). These rips could be covered with electricians tape or the sections could easily be removed and recovered if desired (especially the 2 "seat backs" from the rear seats). There's also small rips on the side panels but again, these can be covered up with tape or removed to recover if desired.(If I had matching blue / white electricians tape in my tool box I would have covered these but the truth be told, when you get out on the water you really don't notice them so I never bothered going to the shop to buy any) The 2 middle sun lounger seats were replaced approx. 4 years ago and have no rips and are in good condition as are the seats in the bow and the 2 rear bench seats. Both middle seats extend out into sun loungers. The floor is soft in places and the previous owner used checker plate to cover this up. It was my intention to replace the internal floor but I never actually got round to this as the checker plate served its purpose and will continue to do so for the new owner if so desired. The hull has had a few knocks over the years which is expected of a boat this age and has had a few glass fiber repairs but its structurally sound. The boat has antifoul applied to the bottom of the Hull which needs reapplying if the boat is to be stored in the water but as I have always kept it on land I have not done this as its not necessary. The engine is a 2 stroke 120 HP Force by Mercury outboard. It has been well maintained and I fitted new plugs and changed the gearbox oil last year at the end of the season. I fitted a new battery in 2019 and it had a new starter motor and trim motor/pump fitted around 4 years ago just before I purchased it.It starts reliably and runs strong every time, I can genuinely say it's never let me down. It can be run in a large water container I use for flushing it for viewings. This engine is in really good condition, performs very well and is probably worth more that what Im expecting this boat to sell for! The boat will reach about 40 knots at full power. I always wash the engine in fresh water after every use and it has been winterized at the end of each season. There are a number of gauges on the boat, including a GPS speedometer, engine water temperature gauge, RPM counter, and battery voltage meter, all of which work correctly. The Nav lights are not working. It may just be that the bulbs need changing but as I've never had any intention to take the boat out in the dark I have never bothered looking into this. The boat sits on a double axle trailer. This has some surface rust but the metal / structure is sound. The breaks have seized and are no longer working which is common in boat trailers due to corrosion within the drums caused by the salt water. I only tow the boat a maximum of 500 meters or so to get it to the slip way so its not been an issue for me.As the boat has a double axle, the wheels are a smaller diameter than that of a single axle equivalent which means the trailer is lower, making it easier to get it under the boat when recovering it at the slipway. This means you don't have to go as far in the water when recovering the boat. The trailer had a new winch fitted last year. The boat runs well and In my opinion is in good condition for its age and will hopefully offer another family the same level of fun which we have had for a fraction of the cost of a more modern boat. For someone with the time, this boat could be restored to a really good standard for not a massive amount of expenditure (although not necessary if you just want to get out and have some fun on it). For an old boat, it still looks good, even when tied up on the pontoon alongside boats worth 10's of thousands of pounds more.It also performs as well as them when out at sea! The boat does not include a cover as I tend to buy a cheap one (these can be picked up for circa £25 on classifieds board) which I put on the boat over winter and throw away in the spring as these cheaper ones tend to tear easily.I am happy to send videos of the engine running, just message me and ill email them to you. Also, this boat is advertised elsewhere so I reserve the right to end the auction if its sells elsewhere.
