The engine was replaced in 2004 and the Carb was replaced in 2015. It was supplied on a launching trailer only, but a new braked trailer has been sourced and this comes with the boat, it spent last year 2016 on a park and launch in Pwllheli.
But have only used it a few times this year. The Upholstery is in good condition with only one small hole on the top of the backrest on the helm seat which can easily be repaired (we were quoted £30 but never got around to getting it done), no rips tears or chaffing. The Hull is in excellent condition with no major dings or abrasions, gel coat is not cracked, hull is clean and has not been painted or anti fouled. Boat has not been left on a mooring and has been stored ashore, it has always been cleaned and the engine flushed after every use. The engine is in a clean oil leak free condition starts with ease and runs perfect.
This engine is very economical to run. The out drive is in fantastic condition, with no signs of any corrosion or damage The tilt and trim works perfectly, The boat comes with two propellers one at 21 Pitch (For towing) and one at 23 Pitch (For cruising) Brokers Comments at time of purchase: This Chaparral 185LE is a great sports boat which is very stable. This model is in fantastic condition for her year. She has been well cared for by her current owner and would be a great buy for anyone looking to enjoy some fun out on the water this Spring. New Engine 2004.
This example also comes with a full camper canvas and new all over winter cover. The Boat is now lying on a trailer in Porthmadog, and can be viewed only at weekends, A sea trial can be arranged provided that the weather is suitable, But a £100 deposit is required for any sea trial and is non-returnable unless a genuine fault is found, this is returnable on purchase of the boat. (I don't want Joyriders turning up) The boat was purchased jointly by me and a friend, but we have now outgrown the boat and want to purchase something bigger, and have decided to offer this boat for sale. Prior to the initial purchase the boat underwent a survey, which revealed the following faults: Oil Pressure sender rustyTrim Gauge not working (Failed Sender Unit)Water Leak from Riser to Manifold GasketOil level slightly high The mariner were given the go ahead to repair the above faults and the following repairs were done prior to purchase in May 2016, all parts were genuine Mercruiser Parts: New Oil Pressure sender fittedNew Riser FittedNew Manifold FittedEngine Oil ServiceNew Sea Impeller Fitted The total price for these repairs came to £1,400 Just completed in May 2017, the Stern Drive has been fully serviced and the following parts replaced. Exhaust Bellows replacedDrive Shaft Bellows replacedLower Shift Cable ReplacedShift Cable Bellows replacedGimbal Bearing replaced Trim Limit Sender replacedTrim Gauge Sender replaced Total Cost £720.00 We have had a braked road trailer built this year for the boat, so boat is now fully legal while being towed on the Roads As you can see no expense has been spared on this boat, the Manifold and Riser are an 8 year service part, so should give a further seven years trouble free use.
Please be aware when buying a boat with an inboard engine that faults cannot be directly seen by a visual inspection, and poorly maintained boats will cost you an arm and a leg. I recommend that a survey be carried out before purchasing “any” boat. I strongly recommend that this is done with this boat prior to purchase but this will be at your cost, and is non-refundable. Not many of these “good” boats are around, but plenty of bad ones. The boat comes with the following: New Braked Trailer (Chassis was Made by local firm and includes new Braked axle, bunks completely replaced and wobble rollers and winch post used from old trailer) Compass Stereo with remote and Wi-Fi.
Waterproof Speakers Anchor with chain and ropeBilge Pump Three Covers:1) Full Winter Cover wraps all around the boat for winter storage. 2) Half Summer Cover from Windscreen to rear of boat.3) Full Camper Cover, This will keep you warm and dry in inclement weather.VHF Radio (May need attention) worked fine last year but cant seem to get it to receive now (may be loose antenna connection) Not in a hurry to sell this boat as not found a boat to replace it with, so please no silly offers, If you are genuinely interested please contact me through E Bay and I will send you my contact number to arrange a viewing or if you have any questions about the boat. This boat is a genuine sale please be wary about buying a boat as they can turn into a money pit. A video of the boat can be found here (Copy and Paste into your Browswer): https://www.youtube.com/watch? V=krxCZdhQwjU More Pictures available on request.
