Crownline 242 Cr Diesel Sports Cruiser Power Boat

This listing is for my 1999 Crownline 242 CR, I have owned her for several years and due to a change in circumstance unfortunately I now need to sell. This boat really is a unicorn simply because she meets more combined criteria than any other boat I could find: She is the largest boat of this type that can be towed with a regular car licence. At 2800kg, with a 600kg trailer the combined weight is collectively under 3500kg maximum towing threshold. This means the boat can easily and cost effectively be transported anywhere in the country and serviced and stored at a much-reduced cost.Certified for taking 8 passengers to sea, she has 4 internal berths and easily accommodates a regular sized family. The comforts of a shower, toilet (with holding tank and pump out, or macerator), kitchen area with cooking and refrigeration means its very practical to live on board.She has a very short 'draft' and 'air-draft'.
This means she can navigate more shallow inland rivers and travel under lower bridges that are not normally accessible to other larger sea boats. The canopy can additionally be removed for further clearance.At 24ft in length, technically there is no legal requirement for any licencing to take this boat to sea. There is of course a moral obligation to ensure competency and the appropriate level of safety. A 2 day ‘RYA power boat level 2’ and ‘RYA VHF radio’ are commonly recognised as the appropriate accreditation and these can be quickly & cost effectively obtained. Luxury American Sports Cruisers are normally fitted with large petrol engines.
This boat was converted to a Mercruiser D4.2 D-Tronic-250 diesel engine. Note, she currently toned down with props that are appropriate for the river and cruises at 10 knots. Not only are diesels safer, more robust and generally less problematic, but the economy is outstanding. The good news for the new owner is I have invested lots in her, including a complete engine overhaul and refit, new transom, reconditioned leg, new bow thruster, new radio, existing canopy is not in bad condition. New interior, completely refurbished deck seating.
Loads of receipts simply too much to mention call me for more info. Although this is large initial outlay and there is ongoing maintenance, my 3 week holiday this year cost me £365 in mooring fees and I booked the day I left! The trailer (not included) is also for sale. Its a ‘Extreme 3500kg’ and 2ish years old (£7.5k new). Please note, I will only sell the trailer either; with the boat, or after seperately after I sell the boat.
