Dell Quay Ranger 25’, (Fairey Huntress hull). Built in 1961. Probably the earliest example available today. Twin Ford 1.8L XLD Diesel 60 Hp engines, indirect cooling with Bowman heat exchangers, driving two Enfield 130 ‘Z’ drives. Four berths in two cabins with a centre cockpit incorporating heads and a small galley with a sink and two burner gas cooker.
Autohelm Tridata log sounder (speed & depth).VDO Rudder angle indicator. Two 12v batteries, one for each engine, either can be switched in for domestic use. 12v switch panel with cabin lights and navigation lights.Electric bilge pump. FM stereo radio. Two 50 gallon fuel tanks.
~ 30 gallon water tank. The 25’ Dell Quay Ranger is based on a Fairey Huntress hull with the superstructure built by Dell Quay. The Hull is hot moulded with 6 laminations on the bottom and 5 on the topsides. Merriette had an extensive refit in 2005 to 2007 where the plywood transom, decks and cabin sides were all replaced with new Marine plywood bonded with epoxy. Dimensions LOA 25’ (7.62m), Beam 8’8” (2.74m), Draft 2’6” (0.76m), displacement 2500kg (estimate).
