Glastron 151 Bowrider

This boat, engine, trailer and accessories are ready to go. You could quite literally collect it and, assuming you have your own lifejackets and stopped to get fuel on the way, go boating. I bought it five years ago and spent most of the first year testing and improving it and the trailer. I re-wired it, replaced the fibreglass main (rear) deck, fitted a bilge pump, had the blue transit cover tailor-made and made and upholstered the rear box seats in the same material. The engine’s in good condition.

It’s a two-stroke Mercury 90 straight-six, which is powerful. I don’t think you can buy two-stroke engines for recreational use anymore, I assume because the they work means some of the fuel mix can get released into the water. Two-stroke engines are still bought and used for power boat racing and some commercial use. The trailer wasn’t set up for a boat this size so I re-positioned the bow stop; scrubbed and re-painted the whole trailer in rust-proof paint. I replaced the bearings, wheels and added mudguards.

It comes with a spare wheel the same size / make as the two that are on it. Again, basic maintenance will keep it in good condition. I’ve not used it nearly enough. Around the time I finished doing it up our first child arrived and we’ve had another since. They’re now two and five.

We’ll be more suited to dingy sailing for the foreseeable hence the sale. It’s been kept in dry storage (indoors) when not being used. The engine was given a full service in June 2018 - oil changed, new impeller, new spark plugs, etc. As it’s a two stroke it’s a a simple engine - there’s not a lot to go wrong so long as its looked after (I can offer advice on this if you’re not familiar with how to look after an engine. It’s also covered in the engine manual, which comes with the boat).
