2009 Glastron GT185 4.3L V6 Mercruiser This project boat is almost complete and has had lots of hours and money to get it to its current state. I took this on during 2020 but unfortunately no longer the available time or suitable storage for it. The engine has had a full rebuild from a professional mechanic, this was due to something seizing internally. So, I will list below the things I have done / had done over the last two years: SBS Trailer (worth a fair bit by itself): · New Axle· New Brakes· New Wheels· Dampener Rebuild· New light Board Engine Re-Build (All OEM Parts): · Bloc, heads, manifolds, intake was sent off to be professional cleaned · Bloc, heads, crank was sent to machining shop to be checked (Valves also checked and re-fitted) · New Gaskets, seals etc etc… · New Piston Rings· New Bearings · Crank Pulley· Crank Pulley Damper· Valve Oil Seals· Spark Plugs· Thunderbolt Coil· Ignition Cable Kit· Idler Pulley · Engine Belt· Fuel Filter· Fuel Pump· Starter Motor· Alternator· Oil Filter· Carb The boat aesthetically is in fairly good condition for its age, Upholstery for the most part is clean with little to no mildew. Most of the seats were stored inside over the two year period.
There are a couple of very rips on the sun bed (pictured). These are the only tears on the whole boat. The Bad Parts! · The Electrics need looking at, Most things work but a few don’t. The schematics are regularly available online and also within the manual provided.
Its not compilated electronics anyone who may have worked on a car should find this very easy. · Battery needs a new isolator switch (I have a new one just not installed) · Prop chatter – whilst attaching the outdrive unit it seems to have developed prop chatter, from my research it just needs a new ‘Flo-Torq’ £30-£50 and an easy fix. · Hinges on the sun bed need attention at some point as I believe they are a bit loose, still work fine! · Gel coat is a little cloudy and could use a touch up in some areas where it looks to have had a repair from the previous owner. · Radio works, but the drivers definitely need replacing.
· Carb & timing could do with an expert taking a look as it suffers from a few mis-fires and drinks petrol at the moment. That about sums it up, I will be giving loads of extra bits along with the sale… Spare oil filter, oil, jerry can, tow ropes, dock lines, carpets etc.. etc… This would be a great boat for water sports, fishing and enjoying days on the water. I wish I had the time to finish this project, but unfortunately I work ever weekend in the summer so wouldn’t even have to time use it! Grab a great deal now and get it ready for next summer!
