Boat Type: Speed Boat
Glastron LarayaA Project with Great Potential What is this listing for? For sale here is a Glastron Laraya open speed boat in need of some TLC which does NOT include a trailer but we can help load the boat. Glastron is an American boat manufacturing company which has been operating since the late 1950's. They were known for being one of the first companies to create fibreglass boats and have since devised different hull designs. The Glastron Glastonbury boats were used in Live and Let Die, one of the famous films in the James Bond series.
Whilst the boat for sale here was not used in the films, it is a very similar design. The boat has been sitting for a while but is ready and eager to have some attention given to it in order to get back on the water. The boat is sold as a project/spares or repairs because it has been sitting for a while so we are unsure on it hull integrity but could be a lovely boat to cruise around and have some fun in once it is finished. We are NOT breaking this item, the listing is for the whole boat without a trailer or engine. The throttle assembly including cables are still present and the throttle and cables move nicely as well as the steering system.
The Laraya still has 3 of the original seats but these would need refurbishment because whilst the leather is in an ok condition, the wood assembly has rotted in places and the metal brackets have rusted through in places. The interior is mostly intact but could do with a refurbishment because some of the side panels have become detached and the steering wheel is weathered. It may also have some rain water in. Unfortunately there is no engine included with the boat but these boats normally have a 50 – 75hp outboard. Once complete, by the right owner, it will be a great boat for having fun on the water.
