Glastron Conroy SSV 176 Speedboat "Luxe" model. Classic speed boat in good condition, good for days out, waterskiing, wakeboarding, cruising around the lake, fishing and fun. On well maintained original, custom Glastron trailer, with reliable and powerful Yamaha 115 V4 outboard engine. The Boat: This is the Glastron Conroy SSV 176 deluxe model which has some better interior specs with teak trim and upholstered dash. Its an older boat - perhaps a bit of a classic and I will be sorry to see her go.
Its been in the family for over ten years, we have cleaned and polished it every year and it has always been well maintained in that time. I have replaced the floor with marine ply and fibreglass and covered with new carpet. It has plenty of room inside, the bow rider has extra seats up front and the upholstery is all in great condition apart from the driver seat which has started to split on top. It has a custom stainlness steel ski pole, ladder, a rear view mirror for skiing / wakeboarding, plenty of space for storing stuff away on days out and there is a fishfinder/Depth gauge. Currently the boat is stored in dry berth.
The Engine. The engine is a Yamaha 115HP V4 2 Stroke. It has never let me down and shows no sign of doing so. It pulls like a train - we have used it for mono skiing, easily pulls me or 14st family members on the mono ski quickly. It will easily pull 2 skiers/ kneeboarders if needed.
Even with a full boat it will pull me out on a mono ski and I've trimmed it out and kept up with mastercrafts with 5.7l V8s!! It gets this boat on the plane in no time without the need for fins or foils - I'll be sorry to see it go. We have serviced and winterised it every year in the 10+ years we have owned it. New impeller every two years. Fresh water use only in our time.
Stainless steel prop in good condition (see photos) Power trim and tilt, Yamaha remote that had new cables 3 years ago. All work carried out by professionals, happy to provide contact details if required. I dont have any log of hours for engine usage but we generally put less than 20 hours use on it a year - I'd say as an average over the time we have had it it will be closer to 15Hrs a year. This is a well known and sought after engine. The Trailer, Glastron made custom trailers for their boats and this is on the original trailer.
The trailer has been well maintained, new axle, new bearings 2 years ago, new carpet on the runners a few years ago, decent tyres, suspension works well, new jockey wheel last year, ratchet and straps good. The Bad Bits........ I've tried to be honest and cover everything I think would be a worry but depending on your view this might not be exhaustive. It's a classic boat so it comes complete with dings and issues. I consider them to be minor but have a good look at the pics, ask questions and be prepared for the maintenance that it requires. The carb was cleaned on the engine at the end of the season year before last so it needs tuning and I never got round to it last year, it chokes out if you over throttle it from a standstill - easily fixed (by a mechanic) and can be done before you collect if you wish but it will push the reserve up.
Usual scratches, dings and signs of age on the gel coat. I've done my best to keep it clean but its not a new boat. There are no brakes on the trailer. The fuel gauge and tachometer needs looking at. I fitted a new fuel gauge and sender unit last year but ive wired it wrong and it is earthing the tachometer so the reading is wrong. One of the seats needs a new base (easy fix)The radio was struggling at end of last year - it needs a new one.
Trim an tilt gauge doesnt work. (never worked in the time we have had it, needs investigation but never bothered me)Ive decided to buy a bigger boat for wakeboarding so, with regret, its time to see this one go. I was hoping to clean, polish, tidy up some loose ends like the tachometer and tuning before selling but its currently in winter storage and lockdown has stopped me from doing. You will be buying as is and the reserve price reflects that. Happy for viewings or water test if required.
