Hi. I'm a proud owner of Historic Lifeboat - Louise Stephens. This was the No1 lifeboat on station at Great Yarmouth & Gorleston from 1939 to 1967. She was the first boat of a special "Gorleston" version of the 46 ft Watson Class, of which only 3 were built. Being a Dunkirk "Little Ship", Louise Stephens has a distinguished war record and is also listed on the National Register of Historic Ships. I was trying to bring her to life, but I don't have enough time anymore.

One engine is rebuilt, the other needs some welding job for the sump and repaint. All set of engine gaskets included (x2). Gearbox and engines were running in Nov 2016. All parts included but starter motors. (I have never managed to find them).

Over last year- I have replaced two planks on the hull (Boat is double diagonal, mahogany. All repairs have been done by experienced historic workboat specialist. Mahogany and silicone bronze used only.) - I have replaced one plank on deck. (Mahogany and silicon bronze)- Caulking and refastened stern hull (around propellers and prop canals (Caulking with cotton, Silicon bronze screws.)- Replaced some seacoks.- Refastened starboard deck stanchions. - Maintenance of the hull, deck and some timber on the sites.

The boat is afloat for last year and a half. There is an electric pump inside that is on for one hour every week to keep rainwater away. There is a small leak in forward from the seacock but water is coming in slower than rainwater. Engines are in the dry workshop, not on board. I have all the gear to make her working and look good.

- Engines(Propellers are on. Have been cleaned and rebuild by prof. Bronze welder)- The steering wheel and shafts (Rudder is working and is in place.)- Bronze fittings, bronze plugs, bronze handles, etc.- Some old tools (nothing that is worth considering as super interesting)- Some paints and chemicals- old Pictures and some documentation that I was trying to collect for rebuild purposes. There is Reserve price but if you want her and you are planning to restore her as original or close to original I'm very open to propositions. Ideally, I would like to sell her somewhere local to keep the boat where she was built but this is not a condition.

HI I Know this boat really well. I was on board her for 2x trips over to dunkirk it was owned for many years on the tyne My friend Brian High owned it in the early 80s and we were asked to take her over for celebrations a few times. I can still remember trying to hand start the old Ferry engines on a cold day taking paying customers out for a fishing trip. I can remember the engines being fitted along side the work shop in gateshead and the wheel house going on. I have a soft spot for this boat I can remember being off peterhead in a force 9 Gail and the boat handled it really well. it has some great history . we had it in Yarmouth in the early 80s and the then ex coxswain showed us how to drive it which really meant jabbing it in and out of gear at 75% throttle the boat was built to cope with it. we donated the binnacle to the Yarmouth life boat museum. I really want to know what happens to her I would love to be involved but living in the north east it will be really difficult. any questions you have I can maybe answer or ask Brian. Brian purchased it off a beach in Norfolk as it had spun a big end bearing we turned one of the engines up side down and lapped a new one in on the beach floating for 1 hour a day. we have owned a barnet and a mersey since them days.

Hi there, Hope you are well. Is the boat still for sale ? can you give me a location of a available longish term hardstanding and the approximate cost of such. As my father-in-law (may he rest in piece after being commited to the sea off Pakefield by the RNLI. He served on HMS Ark royal until she was torpedoed at anchor off the coast of Gibralta.
