Country/Region of Manufacture: United Kingdom
Engine Make: Yanmar
We are reluctantly putting our girl up for sale to allow purchase of a larger model in the same class. She has been an amazing boat and ideal for short and single-handed sailing, or a small family. She has been an ideal starter boat for us to learn on. Over the last three years we have been restoring her to her glory and have spent thousands getting her up to where she is. Lots of work done (see the condition description).
So a great canvas for someone to build upon and apply finishing touches. She is out on the water and we sail her, so the remaining jobs to be done are minor and largely cosmetic. 22 ft Bilge keel yacht with in-board Yanmar 1GM10 engine. Furling mainsail and genoa. All lines laid back to the cockpit for ease.
Navico tiller pilot, GPS, radio cassette, new VHF, manual and auto bilge pump, remote tracker (battery, GPS, temperature, Bilge), echo sounder, log, wind direction indicator. 4 births, galley area and under v-birth head. A superb, robust, proven and very stable ‘proper’ little yacht. The Hurley 22 was designed by the late Ian Anderson and made by Hurley Marine and this one by Ravensail in 1985. These have now gathered a cult following, this model with in-board engine and bilge keel being the most sought after.
She sails amazingly well and is a very sturdy vessel - we feel very safe in her with our 2 kids. See here for an article written about the class: http://www.hurleyownersassociation.co.uk/pages/h22artic.htm See here for the class sailboat data: https://sailboat.guide/hurley/22 Lots of work done over the last few seasons including; rudder stock tube, cockpit drain through-hulls, new prop shaft, cutlass bearing, auto-bilge pump, depth gauge, new mast wiring, log, window seals, wind director, new VHF aerial, new VHF radio . Ready to sail, not much to do in the winter season. She is currently on the water in Portsmouth Harbour and is due to come out for the winter in November (as she does every year). Viewing by arrangement.
