Hurley 22ft Sailing Yacht - Bilge Keel - Weekly Use Boat

This lovely little 22ft Hurley with a bilge keel is looking for a new owner. I bought her this year, just before lock-down, as an entry into sailing. Needless to say that I loved it so much that I have already decided to upgrade to something that will take the kids and I on longer/overnight passages. She's built in 1969, so isn't a spring chicken; but she's been afloat and sailing securely all those years and she is still as solid as the day she was built. She sleeps up to 4 people, although being 6'3 the quarter berth near the galley isn't my favourite place to sleep.

The other quarter berth is 8ft long though, and a V-berth is really comfy. (I found the main sail pretty easy to pull up to full height)When I got her, there were lines all over the place, and along with my sailing instructor we have tidied everything up, and she can now easily be sailed short-handed or even single-handed. I've not been out single-handed, but I've been out with my 8yr old son and we had a great time.The standing rigging has all been recently inspected, and in good condition.The motor was serviced less than 20 running hours ago, and I carry out the "wobble" checks at least once a week. She's berthed in Portishead Quays Marina, where you can discuss the berthing with the marina.

The are a 5-star marina with full facilities. Her berthing currently costs £180 per month, and for that, there is running water to wash things down, showers, laundromat, security, care-taker, and many other things. There are loads of good restaurants, shops, and also a chandlers around the marina, along with a crane to haul out for any reason. I am happy to sea-trial her with you, provided it's before the bidding ends. If you're the winning bidder then I am around till the 31st of July.
