Hurley Silhouette mk2 Sailing Boat 17ft mk2

Hi and welcome to the auction for my 1965 Hurley Silhouette Mark 2 sailing boat. I recently purchased this from a friend of the gentleman who bought and owned the boat from new. I purchased the boat on a bit of an impulse and it didn't take me long to realise the boat is far too nice for me to just tinker with and not actually get used. It deserves to go to someone who knows what they are doing and most importantly will use it. I should quickly point out I know little to nothing about boats and as I say purchased it on a whim.
The boat appears to be in good condition given its age. There is some damage to the bottom rudder mount as can be seen in the pictures but otherwise seems very solid. The hull is made from ply and I believe this makes it the earlier version rather than the later glass fibre hull. I've taken some photos of the inside of the hull with the floor boards up to show the condition of the inside. The boat is on what I think is its original launch trailer, which in turn is on a home made road trailer.
Both launch trailer tyres are perished and don't hold air. The road trailer ones are both holding air but I would suggest the whole trailer has a proper going over before taking it back on the road. The engine is a Stuart Turner single cylinder petrol that seems to turn over nicely but I've not had it running as someone has removed the fuel tank and lines. Tank and lines are there but will need putting back on and a check over the engine There are lots of bits and bobs with the boat as can be seen in the pictures. One of the bags has various ropes in and another has the sails in it.
The mast is the original wooden one and again appears in very good condition. I was told when I purchased the boat the mast and sails were both stored indoors. The boat generally appears in good condition and I think it would be an excellent project for a sailing enthusiast. As I've said I'm not a boat expert and I'm selling it as a project so please do check the photos carefully and feel free to ask any questions you may have.
