Sailing Yacht

Here is offered a very sound example of a Hurley 22, called "Astarte" ("Greek Goddess of Love" I understand !),and is supplied complete with Galvanised Storage Cradle She was bought in 2014 out of the marina at Whitehaven and has been stored under cover since. The hull has been stripped of all previous anti-fouling and is ready to re-coat. This shows very clearly the very low level of osmosis in the hull. The yacht was refurbished with a new 14hp twin cylinder BETA engine (see photograph) the season before purchaseand was professionally fitted by MP Marine of Maryport. (Cost over £4000.00 to supply and install)The previous owner has confirmed that this engine will have done well under 40 hrs of use since installation and was serviced just prior to lifting out of the water.

The mast and boom were unfortunately condemned due to excessive electrolysis to the fittings, but a replacement mast, boom tabernacle and sails (all in sound order) has been sourced from a Hurley 18 and if desired is supplied free of charge. The original sails, in sound order, are still available. She is well equipped with a sea toilet in fore peak, VHF, Radio Log, etc (some electrical work may be required).No gas but cooking via paraffin stove. Wired for shore power. A lightly used Combination Road Trailer (would cost in excess of £4000.00 new) his available to be sold separately,that will carry the yacht on the Storage Cradle (see photographs).

The trailer has been designed to be used for other or general purposes when not used to transport the boat. The trailer is offered as an extra at £2500.00, or can be hired to move the boat and returned. (a deposit of £2500.00 will be required and should be returned within 7 days to redeem the deposit less £100.00 for the cost of the hire) This boat is offered as a small winter project to bring her back up to good sailing condition, with a very sound hullin need of anti-fouling only, a nearly new inboard engine and the ability to tow her (I used a Mitsuibishi Shogun)to her new destination without contracting out. With a little love and attention she would be easily restored to a safe, reliable, family cruiser. The perfect solution for anyone with a tired Hurley 22 Hull, where their rigging and sails are sound.
