Sailing Yacht Hurley 22

Re-listed due to a previous time waster. For auction is my Hurley 22. I bought her 4 years ago from a friend who owned her for 10 years and sailed her out of Whitehaven on the west coast of Cumbria. However my wife and I then decided to bring "Astarte" slightly closer to home to sail on lake Ullswater. Before moving her to Ullswater I thought I'd take her home and strip the hull and re-anti-foul and get this solid boat into immaculate condition.

She was well maintained by her last owner who spared no expense and in 2015 had a Brand New Beta 14 inboard fitted by MPM Marine of Maryport at a cost of about 4k. I've had her undercover since and stripped the hull which is in great condition. Unfortunately we found the mast to be corroded due to excessive electrolysis, but was happy to replace this along withthe standing and running rigging. (I do have a used mast complete with standing rigging and sails from a Hurley 18 which can be used short term and is included in the sale) With a really Solid Hull, less than 30hrs from new Engine and with New Rigging and a couple of coats of anti-foulshe'll effectively be a new boat. However, as so often happens in life, I've not got round to getting her back on the water.

With new business commitments it looks like I wont be doing that any time soon so regretfully I've decided to sell her. The pictures I've posted show her both a few years ago and how she is now. Let's be clear she is a small project, but well worth it. The Hurley 22, as any google search will tell you, is arguably the finest pocket cruiser ever made and a wonderfully safesea boat. She has a solid hull and almost unused diesel inboard.

Complete the rigging and you'll have a solid mint boat that will take you anywhere. (I notice that a similar engine was selling recently in West Cumbria for £3500.00 !) I'm selling her with a cradle and whoever buys I will let borrow my trailer for delivery if needed. However, the trailer was hand built by me and is worth at least £2.5K so the buyer would have to leave me a deposit on the trailer until delivered back.(If required I am happy to sell Astarte together with the road trailer by separate negotiation if required) but if you haveany questions please free to call me, o797o 77o1 65.
