This is our lovely Hurley Silhouette Mk3 "Cameo", which we are selling as a complete package with an excellent De Graff braked road trailer and 4hp Mariner Sailmate outboard with battery charging coil. Built about 1979 We are selling her now as we have just bought a larger yacht, a 26ft Westerly Centaur. We have had a very happy three years sailing Cameo in Chichester Harbour and the wider Solent region, but now we wish to sail with more people and a bit further afield, hence the new boat. Cameo is a twin keel, shallow draught yacht which is ideal for trailer sailing or can be kept on a cheap drying mooring which is what we have done over the last few years at our sailing club. She is always taken ashore in the winter for maintenance and is now on her trailer fully ready to be launched and sailed for this season's sailing.
In the cabin, there are very clean full length seat cushions which can be made up into either two single bunks, or a double bunk with the forward seat infill in place. Fire extinguisher located on cabin wall. Plenty of shelf storage space and lots of extra space below the bunks. A 12V battery in good condition is fitted and charged by the solar panel and outboard via a charge controller which retains a full charge over the winter. A good 4 switch panel is fitted for the nav lights etc and with auxiliary sockets for charging etc Auto bilge pump fitted with an intake line to the lowest point of the bilge.
Its never needed as the boat is always totally dry Bilges are very clean and totally dry. Two cockpit drains are fitted. Sails are in a pretty good and tidy condition. Mainsail is crisp and clean with just a few very small rust marks visible. Blue mainsail cover in very good condition.
The foresail Genoa is on a roller reefing setup and is a clean sail and works well. She has a new anchor and about 30 meters of recent chain and 10 meters of rope warp. Fenders are included, plus a boarding ladder. Three large cockpit lockers. Steering compass and NASA depth meter, both working well.
Mast head Windex, tricolour lights and radio aerial. There is no fixed radio fitted (we used a handheld) but the aerial cable is new and a radio could easily be fitted. There are also deck level navigation lights. The De Graff BK1300/2 ADJ trailer was purchased new in 2011 specifically set up for Cameo. The bearings, tyres and wheels are all in good condition.
We can supply some straps to secure the boat to the trailer on the road, but you may wish to also add your own. The Mariner is a 4hp long shaft Sailmate high thrust outboard motor, specifically set up for powering a yacht and to supply charging to the boats battery. Comes with 12 Lt fuel tank located in aft cockpit locker. The motor has been recently serviced and has always been totally reliable. There is also a solar panel on the rear deck which feeds through a charge controller and keeps the battery fully charged all winter.
She is located ashore at a sailing club near Hayling Island, Hampshire and if you are interested in viewing her then I can arrange to meet you at the club to show you around Cameo and also answer any question you may have. Please view before buying! There is a good owners association that may also help you http://www.hurleyownersassociation.co.uk/ and a Facebook grouphttps://www.facebook.com/groups/phone6877/
