Here is my Mastercraft boat up for sale. It's up for sale due to the owners of the lake I use selling the lake and also my wife is setting up her own business so need the money and space. Now this is quite an old boat and we have used it - towing inflatables, kneeboards, skiers and wakeboards. It has done all we have asked of it. My previous boat had a 4.3 mercruiser motor and this has a 5.7 ford V8 and seems to use the same amount of fuel as the 4.3 (the 5.7V8 doesn't have to work as hard as the 4.3 I guess). The pictures were taken today and probably make it look nicer than it is. It comes with the 4 wheel Mastercraft braked trailer which has self greasing bearings and we replaced most of the wooden bearers but the carpet on them could do with renewing (need the boat off it to do it and i only take the boat off to use).
Also have the Mastercraft manual.I have owned this for about 5 or so years and have had it serviced every year - it is currently winterised so both water systems have been filled with neat antifreeze.. Engine runs well with loads of power and last year I had to import a new fuel pump from the USA and it had new plugs and leads at the same time.Has a powder coated aluminium wakeboard tower with board racks. So what is wrong with it???? Well, last time we were out last year, the gearbox slipped a couple of times. I have changed the oil in it and it improved but it does still occasionally slip if you try to tow more than 2 people on kneeboards/inflatables. I believe it needs the clutch plates in the gearbox replacing, which (so i have read) looks to be a job a fairly competent diy mechanic could do. I would also change the propeller shaft seal at the same time.
I have no time to do this with all that is going on at the moment. The other thing that lets this boat down is the hull. It has no holes but has suffered some damage. The lake we have used has a very angular steel jetty which is not forgiving to our sometimes exuberant driving. The worst was just by the tower mounting (it was not caused by the tower) and this has been repaired and gelcoated and flatted so it is glassy smooth but i have not painted it so you can see exactly what is there (pictured).
I would probably wrap the boat in vinyl if i was to keep it. There are other minor scratches to the gel coat in places and cracks in the gelcoat around the tower mounts as the tower flexes.Just to be clear, I was still using this boat up to September 2016 and would use this year if my circumstances were different. It just needs the gearbox doing and prettying up the bodywork.Seats are ok - rear base cushion was redone 2 years ago and my friend did the base of the front passenger seat last year (slightly different vinyl). The tops of the rear seats are just starting to go along the seams and the drivers seat has some cracking.I had this boat to wakeboard with and so have not really been concerned with how it looks but more its functionality. Can throw in the skis and kneeboard as shownIf you are at all unsure as to the condition of this boat, then please come and take a look. I have probably done it an injustice in highlighting all the faults but I don't want people thinking this like a new boatCash on collection please or you can send a cheque and wait for it to clear.Am selling it now so you can have ready for the spring to use and enjoy.Yes i do need it sold but i will not end early for the starting price or entertain offers less than the start price.
If you bid and win - its yours!
