Maxum 1700XR Speedboat Boat Bowrider Mercury 60hp 2 Stroke Outboard Part Ex?

Here we have up for sale is my trusty Maxum 1700 XR Bowrider We have owned this boat as a family toy for approx 1 year as we bought it to replace our Jet Ski... Mainly because the ski was a 3 seater and we are a family of 4 so the wife moaned she was left alone all the time ( The things you do to keep them happy!! :) ) Only reason we are selling is that it will no longer be used due to us selling our caravan and have nowhere local to use and more to the point... No time! I'm led to believe it's a 1995 model Maxum 1700XR - 17ft in length and is fitted with a superb very low hours Mercury 60 Outboard.... Please look at the pictures on how clean it is! We bought it off a retired couple last year who bought it from the owner who bought it from new! When we bought it the couple told us the boat had been sat for approx 8 years in a boat yard next to their existing boat and had bought this to downsize theirs but ended up buying one that they had been after for years just after purchasing this one!

Anyway the previous owner fitted a brand new Mercury 60 which does state 2005 on the serial number and had only done 10 hours use previous to us buying it.... and honestly just by looking at the engine this can be clearly seen.... It is mint!! We had serviced last year when bought and probably only done approx 5 hours with it on the water and it ran absolutely faultless and the whole family had a fantastic time! Has power tilt and works spot on - can be operated on the engine or on the throttle controls. The boat was de winterised back in October and stored away in my garage and today pulled it out for the first time to give it a clean and it fired instantly and idled / ran spot on - That's how good the motor is! I can arrange for it to be fully serviced by my boat mechanic prior to sale and if the buy it now is hit then I will include this into the sale.

As for the boat itself it's in very good condition considering it's age. It does have some marks / scratches and some slight paint fade due to it being stored outside by it's previous owner for the length of time but I spend a lot of time machine polishing it all last year and does look very nice. Has leather seating fitted which will seat 4 in the boat and approx 2 on the bow. As can be expected by a boat of this age a couple of the seats have suffered some of the stitching to split - Please look at pics but has never bothered us. The seats convert into sun loungers and is great while out at sea just laying there chilling!

Does have a radio fitted - it powers up but no sound, if I can find a CD player in the garage I will include this in the sale. All switches etc work, The bilge pump is not automatic as I just used it manually off a switch. The automatic switch is there but just needs connecting. Rev counter works but speedo doesn't. The previous owner replaced the original alloy tank as it suffered corrosion and was leaking ( Common problem ) It is now fitted with a 20l plastic tank and has had a new surround made around it along with a blue plastic cover around the bilge etc - This could possibly do with a bit of tidying but works fine and again has never bothered us - We just used to keep a spare 5 litre can of petrol behind the plastic - Ideal!

Where the new surround / flooring has been made this has been re carpeted to a different colour but looks fine. I have just noticed today where the original carpet meets the new it is flexing a bit and possibly could do with a bit of TLC but again has never caused us an issue! The trailer was was fitted with brand new bearings last year from the states which cost £170!!!! - These have only approx done 200 miles from new - so no issues there! The previous owner has removed the brake cables from the bunked trailer and in turn it does cause a slight banging from the hitch when the tow car applies the brake - not nasty and has not bothered us.

All brakes etc are still fitted I believe but have not inspected these. It will come complete ready to tow away... Light board and strap etc. It does have a full sun canopy and bow cover but unfortunately due to age etc the covers have shrunk slightly and due not fit very well. I did find the company who mad them and was going to have them amended but but never got round to this- but they will be included in the sale as will a 5 litres of genuine mercury 2 stroke oil. Universal full cover also included.

Overall it's a fantastic family boat and someone will have a fantastic time just like we have. Does have a few small marks / Bit of TLC needed but has loads enjoyable time left in it especially with the as new engine fitted!
