I have owned this boat for the last 15 years, and had great fun pottering around the UK rivers, mainly on the R Trent and twice on the Avon. We have taken it on holidays to Torquay, Poole, and Scarborough so it has seen salt water, but 95% of its life has been on fresh water. (For three out of the last seven years it was never launched at all. ) Until this summer it has always been kept on its trailer, ( as did the previous owner for 8 years ) but this summer we moored it in a local marina, so see if we would use it more, as it was getting more and more effort to launch and recover it with our advancing years. We used it 6 times during the summer, but we decided to pass it on to a new owner, who could give their family a reliable and very practical day boat and holiday interest.
Last winter, it underwent a major DIY refit. Some decking was replaced, glassed and flowcoated, £700 of re-upholstery was done professionally, new carpet fitted, hull repainted, all woodwork restored, electrics overhauled, new fenders, windscreen seals and an auto-operating bilge pump fitted. Two new audio speakers were added along with new VHF and FM antennae. It is equipped with Uniden VHF radio, FM radio and CD player, depth gauge, full instrumentation, drinks holders, fold down picnic table, and will be supplied with all documentation, 3 lifejackets etc etc. It has fitted covers, plus a home-made one to cover the windscreen area.
Most of the pictures were taken on the day it came out of the marina to be trailered back home. . I would have liked to have cleaned it and got rid of the weathering and muck that accumulates while standing outdoors, but I had to take the opportunity while I had it. It is now on it's trailer in my garden, and available to view by arrangement. The Evinrude ETech60 engine ( with hyraulic tilt ) was brand new 7 years ago and is superbly economical and reliable. It will get the boat planing in seconds but since it's mainly used on rivers, high speed isn't an option.
New fuel lines were fitted last winter. Fuel tank is manufacturer fitted underfloor. New leisure battery fitted in 2016, and in excellent health. The bunkered Hallmark trailer had a brand new Indespension axle fitted some 12 years ago at £600, and the whole unit was serviced in 2015 (£630) when a completely new towing hitch / handbrake assembly was fitted, all cables replaced, new brake shoes, and wheel bearings. It has an unused spare wheel, but is not fitted.
I just put it in the car boot. . OK - so what needs doing. ? The engine is due for a basic service. Starts on the button, and runs like new and a service will make sure it continues to do so. The fuel gauge jumps around like mad the lower it gets.
To be honest I put £40 of fuel in it three years ago and I'm still using it. The speedo was disconnected some years ago and need reconnecting if you think you'll need it. Personally I've not missed it as I know what 5kts / 8 knts feels like on a river. The boat has a few very minor dings / scuffs/ from its use this year, but only visible if you're up close. Using the 10' rule - they're not obvious.
One of the other audio speakers could be replaced. It works, but looks naff. If I was keeping it I'd be investing in a new set of custom made covers to replace the ones made about 12 years ago. It has a BSS certificate till 2023. Any questions, please ask.
