Maxum 1900SC Mercruiser 4.3 V6 & Twin Axle Trailer

If this was a classic car it would be a "barn find" is the boating equivalent a "lake find"? My Mum, Dad and Brother bought this in the early 2000's when it was a couple of years old..... They all lived at a place called "Burton Waters" which is a housing estate built round a lake and each house had a mooring so they got this..... Apparently Stern driven power boats are not the best thing for tootling up the fossdyke to the local pub so after three or four difficult journeys they gave up and it sat there for about 4 years. Eventually both my parents and Brother moved away and it fell to me to get the trailer-less boat out of the water and back home. So I bought a trailer and brought it back home 6 years ago with the intention of cleaning it up and going power boating........ Sadly that hasnt happenned so a new year resolution / reality check finds you looking at it for sale. I know nothing about boats so you are buying a project!

The battery is dead and I tried charging it last weekend and my pal put his jump leads on.....we got a couple of lights on the dash and a click from the engine when we tried to spin it over. After over ten years of not running you have to assume that this is going to need some TLC The boat is very dirty but its complete and everything is in good condition. Ive cleaned a bit at the front and its come up like new (see photo) Im sure a thorough valet and polish would see it looking like new again. My brother tells me that the boat has done 150 hours? I obviouly cant verify that but cant see why it wouldnt be right.

This is a genuine Auction and im not adding the "reserve the right to sell elsewhere" caveat! That everyone seems to use. I will say that I offerred it to a local chap who had expressed an interest back in January but he's a master ditherer and although he says he wants it he hasnt come up with the cash yet....... If he does magically turn up I do reserve the right to keep my gentlemans word and sell it to him as I gave him first refusal but I think a Martian invasion more likely! If you buy it then its his tough luck and Im not prepared to wait any longer before I advertise it! I'm happy to try and anser any questions but please bear in mind that I know nothing about boats apart from it looks great and is supposed to float?
