Maxum Bowrider 17' On Trailer

OVERVIEW Offered for sale here is my beloved Maxum 17' Bowrider. I have owned this for the last 15 years and has been kept trailered in the garden when not in use. I'm not sure of it age, as it was used when I bought it, but I believe it to be a late 80s/early90s model. It's a deep V keel so very at home at sea or on inland waters. We have taken it to the coast for a week on holiday 3 times in those years, and the rest of the time it has been used on inland waterways.

On average, we launch it about 6 times a year. A couple of years it wasn't used at all due to bad weather and lack of time. It seats 8 comfortably and has a built-in fold down picnic table in the stern. POWER. In 2011 it was fitted with a brand new electric start , power tilt Evinrude ETech 60 by Powertech Marine on Hayling Island. This is the latest generation of outboards and is incredibly economical, efficient and 100% reliable.

It will get the boat planing and is good for about 25+kn depending how many are on board. For ski-ing etc a 90 would be ideal, but since this was effectively a river / day boat for us, economy was more important than power. It actually delivers both - and very well. Plugging it in at a Evinrude dealership will give you it's running history from Day 1, but my best estimate would be 6-8 hours saltwater time and 40-50 hrs fresh water. EQUIPMENT. Since owning it I've fitted a Marine VHF (DSC) radio, NASA depth finder and a radio/cd player, both radios play through the remote waterproof speakers.

The steering linkage was replaced a few years back, and the cockpit floor was partially replaced and re-glass-fibered two years ago. It has an in-built ski locker and a ski pole. It cames with numerous fenders/boathooks/ documents / bills / etc. Some re-upholstery has been done on two seats and the rear storage lockers. The carpets are rubber backed and can be removed for winter storage/cleaning etc.

Electric (non auto) bilge pump. Fully studded/fitted covers for open bow and cockpit area, plus an overall cover for winter stoarage. TRAILER. It sits on an Indespension bunkered trailer which had a new main axle fitted about 12 years ago, (£800) and over £600 of work was done on it it 2014 including a whole new towing hitch assembly, new brake rods,cables, bearings etc etc. Unused spare wheel included. THE BAD BITS.

None really. If we were keeping it, I would be looking at more re-upholstery on some seats, it shows a little age-related wear and tear, but it looks great on the water and is quite a head turner on rivers and canals. The speedo was disconnected and although it is in the instrument panel it has no driving mechanism. Having not been used this year due to failing health she is looking a bit forlorn. I will start to give her a bit of a scrub up and she may be viewed at home by arrangement.
