1989? Newbridge Virgo voyager sailing yacht Brand new mainsailNew fuel tankNew starter and leisure batteryNew 10kg Lewmar delta anchor and new chainNew depth sounder Serviced engine 2021 and had no issues in the 2 years I’ve owned it.Serviced roller furling mechanism on the Genoa (2021)New water tank (not yet fitted)The boat sails really well, not the fastest but sails quicker than it looks, it is also deceivingly big inside for a 23ft boat. There is 6ft standing headroom, 5 berths (v berth, drop down table to create a double in the saloon and a quarter berth), a working sea toilet (no holding tank), double gas stove and grill, sink and tap (new water tank which is yet to be fitted). Only downfall of the interior is that some of the headlining vinyl material has started to peel away in places and could to with being reglued or would recommend replacing as it’s probably original. Solid reliable engine never had an issue with.
Hull topsides were repainted 2 years ago so the paintwork is good, it needs anti fouling and the keel need sanding back and treating before antifoul. The rust is only surface rust and I sand, treat and repaint each year, potentially could try epoxy coat but it’s never been an issue for me and keel bolts are rust free. The fixed vhf unit doesn’t work and it’s very old but I just use a hand held vhf which is included in the sale. The rudder bearings have a bit of movement so the tiller has vibrations when not under tension whilst motoring but never caused any issues. The anode could do with replacing which there is a spare on the boat. There is a chart plotter which also has sonar depth sounder which shows the surface of the sea bed which is great for exploring shallow rivers.
The boat also comes with the cradle that it’s is stored on for the winter and you can easily take this apart and fit in the back of an estate car. Yard fees all paid and that includes the launch of the boat or can be used to lift onto a trailer. Further storage of the boat at the yard can be arranged at buyers cost.£250 deposit to be paid within 24hours of auction.
