Paste link into a browser window: [isdntekvideo] For Sale – A Bonwitco open motor boat The boat has a 'Dromedile Hull' - if you dont know what this is, google it, it is quite something 14ft long and 6ft wide across the gunwale's at their widest point Fitted with a Tohatsu 30hp Four Stroke engine Supplied with the trailer I have had this boat for 2 years, and unfortunately I have hardly used it. I have logged 26hrs of use in 2 years, however I need my parking space back, so it is time for it to go I have done quite a bit of work on the boat and trailer over the last couple of years, with bills/receipts to prove ------------------- The work carried out on the trailer includes: New wheels New high speed tyres New hubs New bearings New torsion suspension New jockey wheel ------------------- The work carried out on the boat or new items for the boat include: The carbs were removed and ultrasonically cleaned and refitted with a new Tohatsu carb kit New Ultraflex steering cable (splashwell type) New steering control helm There is new wiring throughout, with new fuse box, bus-bar and other electrical items New 75Ah dual purpose leisure battery (starter/cranking battery and also deep cycle leisure battery all in one) with a new battery box Quick release battery clamps A new Auto Starter (electronic automatic choke) A new fuel tank with a built in fuel gauge An anti-theft engine lock so that the engine cannot be easily removed A new 5 way switch panel with voltmeter, USB and 12v cigarette socket A solar panel paired with a solar controller which constantly trickle charges the battery A digital rev counter and hours usage computer New running lights A new spotlight on the bow A new automatic bilge pump with a built in auto float switch A new auxiliary engine bracket A new drivers seat ------------------- The boat was fully serviced by the last owner just before I purchased it, and I have only logged 26hrs of use during the time I have owned it. As I understand things, servicing every 100hrs is normal?
But don't quote me on that. The digital rev counter on the dashboard is also a service reminder and hour usage computer. I installed the rev counter when I bought the boat and it currently shows 26 hours ------------------- The engine is a 30hp Tohatsu, 3 cylinder, 4 stroke, I think it is about 14 years old. The engine is very nice, runs really well, very smooth and quiet. The fuel economy is amazing.
The boat is not super fast, but it can run at 20-25mph with just one person onboard, depending on sea state and wind etc. Once out in the open I travel most places at about 15-20mph. The cabs were removed last year and ultrasonically cleaned and refitted with a new Tohatsu carb kit. The engine is a MANUAL tilt and trim. However, it is very easy to tilt up, and the trim is set at the correct level.
The leverage over the transom means that the engine tilts back and over quite easily. This boat has a dromedile hull, so it planes very easily, it always rides flat, it does not point the bow at the sky and it does not porpoise. It has a shallow water setting where you pull the engine up one notch and the prop sits just below the water. You need to lift the engine up manually when retrieving the boat to the trailer which is not an issue. I use this boat on salt water, but I always flush it through after with fresh water when I can.
I also run the engine on the muffs or in a tank of water and use Blue Thru tablets, which clean out any salt from the cooling system. The engine pumps water well, with a strong tell-tale. It starts easily, with normally just a few turns to get going when the engine is cold, and then it often starts on the first turn of the key when warm I stabilise the fuel when the boat is not in use and I also drain the fuel from the carb float bowls. The boat was not used for 7 months this winter period (Oct to April). The solar panel maintained the battery, and when I went to start the boat in April, it started after just a few turns of the key The boat is supplied with a fuel tank; it’s just not shown in the photos ------------------- The boat itself cuts a nice shape – she handles really well and is OK out on rougher water.
She is quite wide across the beam, at 6ft width across the gunwales at their widest point, and she is very stable. The boat seats 5 comfortably. There is a bench seat at the front which can take 2 people, and there are two small seats at the rear quarters of the left and right side, plus the driver. There is also a long bench seat which extends from the drivers seat right to the splashwell. There are two large locker spaces in the front.
One is under the bench seat; one is behind the hatch near the bow. The boat has chequer plate on the bow and rear quarters ------------------- The boat is supplied with everything you see in the photos, including the trailer, some mooring ropes, 1x bailer, 1x anchor and chain with approx 30m of rope, 3x white side fenders, 1x bow fender, 2x stern fenders, 2x oars, 1x boat hook, and the boarding ladder ------------------- THE SMALL PRINT PLEASE READ THE TEXT BELOW – I have sold cars, vans, bikes and boats previously on classifieds board and I have been let down by buyers on many occasions. The text below is what I have learnt over the years If you wish for me to stop the advert and you wish to secure the boat you must pay a £250 non-refundable deposit. If you pull out of the deal you forfeit your deposit and it will be re-advertised. I know £250 seems high, but if you are GENUINE about buying the boat then this should not be a problem If a deposit is made, full payment is required as speedy as you can make it, within a few days really, 7 days max, and I would hope that you can collect the boat and take it away in that same time frame Please only make contact and initiate proceedings if you actually have the money to buy this boat Please do not expect for me to hold the boat for you because you’re waiting for some money to come from someone, who owes someone else a favour and is waiting for their cash, or something like that.
I’m a jolly nice person, but as with everybody these days I am very busy and I am not in a position to be able to deal with excuses; I just want someone to like it and buy it You are more than welcome to visit, view it, see the engine running and press all the buttons, but it will remain up for sale until the deposit or the amount in full is paid I am not a boat trader and so I cannot offer a warranty or guarantee, so none is given or implied If you buy the boat without viewing it in person, and then you get here and find that you don’t like it, then I’m afraid that is just the way it is A return/refund is not offered Paypal is accepted as a form of payment, however if you make an offer on the boat I would need to consider the offer taking into account paypal fees (3.4%) Electronic bank transfer, cash or cheque are also accepted forms of payment (the boat will be held until the cheque clears)
