Here I have a 14ft cathedral hull boat for sale I think its a wilson flyer hull but I'm not 100%. Just from online pictures I was looking at. I purchased the boat around 2 years ago. It was in need of complete re doing. Decided to strip it back to the bare fibreglass hull and start again.
The following is what I have done: 1) New marine ply Transom glued and glassed over in 4 layers. 2) New 18mm deck with stringers all glassed in and putty around edges. 3) New sump at rear for a bilge pump. 4) New rear engine bay with space underneath for sliding fuel cans under. 5) New side struts along hull ( really sturdy ) 6) New open cab with two front window openings and a platform for the steeringwheel and battery underneath.
7) New sides raised up slightly and a step formed for getting in and out easier. It had a small hole on the side of the hull but not right through when i purchased it but has since got a repair, but again needs finishing. It is probably around the size of a golf ball and it was above the waterline. Its only 14ft but has been designed to have a good size deck space which is why the cab has no doors. It has a bit of work to get it ready for paint.
Some bits of ply still to glass into place, bits of glass to finish around the edges etc. It really needs to be viewed to get the idea of what is required. I will answer any questions to the best of my abillity. I have put a fair bit of work into it. The plan was to get a boat that functions the way i wanted and not be too expensive.
I just wanted to get out fishing and have something reliable! When finished it was going to fish 3 people as the deck space is around 7ft long. The boat had an old 50hp outboard which was rotten and in the dump now. The transom was made to the same size that was on it originally as i planned on using the same size of engine. Im not sure on the rated hp of the boat.
Circumstances have changed and I have no longer got the space I had to work on it at my leisure so it has to go to a new home. It doesn't have a trailer just an old launching one that is past it. I just used it for moving it in/out of the shed. It will come with the big roll of glass matting and a 20kg new drum of resin for the remaining fibreglass bits. Any questions please ask.
