14ft Traditional Clinker Wooden Motor Launch/boat

Traditional clinker motor launch. Originally a Norfolk Broads day boat, but has since been striped back to the hull and redesigned to it's current form. The only part of the original boat kept, is the sapele hull, however planks and ribs were replaced where necessary. Once the hull was complete and pained, it was fitted with a fully reconditioned Stuart Turner P5M single cylinder, water cooled engine and gearbox with reverse gear. The engine was plumbed in with modern piping and wiring for safety, however we used an original brass exhaust silencer to keep the traditional look.

The silencer is hung under the aft deck and the steel fuel tank is under the forward deck. We then started fitting the decks. First was the ply base, then the sapele and oak veneers to create the contrasting swept look that is usually only seen on bigger yachts. The interior was then designed and fitted, continuing the contrasting timbers and traditional look. 12 coats of varnish later, and we were ready to add the deck fittings and finishing touches.

The boat has been water tested, as you can see in the photos. Everything works perfectly, it looks fantastic on the water and sounds great. All the woodwork was carried out by two graduates of the Lyme Regis Boat Building Academy, and the Engine was reconditioned by a Stuart Turner specialist.
