17ft Lune Whammel Grp Day Boat - Like Drascombe Lugger

We bought this boat with every intention of taking our kids sailing. That was last August and it hasn’t been in the water yet. Regrettably we just haven’t got round to using it so it’s time for her to go to a new home and an owner who will take her sailing! We bought it from another family who kept the boat in Hayling Island. They bought it from Character Boats direct - it was one of their factory refurbished boats.

Apparently they hardly used the boat, only sailing her a handful of times themselves. She was kept ashore on her trailer. So basically, the boat is in very good condition because no one has actually really used the boat! She is ready to go - literally you could launch her tomorrow and sail away. The hull has never been antifoul painted, the sails are still new and crispy!

Any inspection welcome - the boat is kept in a boat yard on the River Hamble. Contact me if you would like to view before bidding. The bad stuff - the only issue I can see with the boat is the brakes on the trailer. When we bought the boat the previous owner had disconnected the brakes - so it tows like an unbraked trailer. We brought it back from Hayling Island to Hamble with no issues - it tows very well - but obviously it would need looking at if towing any distance.
