26 Foot LB26 Motor Sailor

The LB26 is an excellent motor sailor with a deep, safe cockpit with a covered wheel house. The shallow draft (0.85 m) and bilge keels means that it possible to explore headwaters and creeks and dry out in safety. The accommodation is superb with 6 comfortable berths (2 doubles in the fore cabin and 2 singles in the aft cabin. There is 6 foot headroom in the fore cabin. The heads are equipped with a Jabsco manual flush toilet (new 2011).

The galley has a grill, a 2 burner gas hob, a sink and a pressurized water system. The sails are by Arun (Circa 2002) they comprise of a self-furling head sail, main and mizzen. They were professionally valeted in Dec 2017. The cockpit has 2 canopies; one for winter and a larger summer canopy (pictured) for summer. The engine is a fresh water cooled 47 hp Perkins 4107 diesel.

It has a typical cruising speed of 6 knots with a fuel consumption of ~ 2 litres an hour. The engine has had an extensive overhaul including: replacement cylinder head gasket (May 2017) and new: engine mounts; impeller; thermostat and sensor; solenoid, alternator (65 amp) and sea water filter. The Borg-Warner hydraulic gear box was professionally rebuilt at the end of 2017 (still under warranty). The engine has just been serviced with new fuel and oil filters, engine oil and gear box oil. Electronics supplied include: VHF radio; GPS chart plotter; autopilot, Radar and compass.

The electrical system has had a major refurbish with new batteries, new bus bars, fuse holders and cabling (2017), The internal lighting has been updated with low energy LED lighting (2017). The boat comes with fenders, a Bruce anchor and chain; emergency boarding ladders and horseshoe lifebelt (with light). I have enjoyed the boat immensely over the 5 years that I have owned her but have to sell because of a job that means I will be overseas for months at a time.
