26ft Sailboat Project

Welcome to my auction for this lovely little boat. She was bought with a friend with the intention of fixing her up to sail on the Solent. Unfortunately a new job has meant that the logistics of fixing her up are just a bit unmanageable at the moment. She is sold as a project and as such will require work. The boat was taken out of the water 4 years ago and has dried out.

I don’t really know what she needs to put her back in the water as I am not an expert but she seems like a great little project. There is no engine or interior (previous owner removed). The vessel is currently known as Blauwe Slenk but she has no paperwork or history unfortunately. What I know is this... She was built in 1958 by G.A. Kroes of KAMPEN (Holland).

Though she looks like a folkboat she is in fact not a folkboat. Gait Kroes designed her sister JUPITER in 1942 and 4 ships of this “JUPITER” class were built. JUPITER - 1947ADOLFINA CORNELIA - 1958HERA - 1958NEPENTHE II - 1969 This example is yard Hull 89 known as ADOLFINA CORNELIA. She is 26ft long with a 4 and a bit ft draft. Constructed of Mahogany planks on oak frames, held in place with copper rivets.

The original yard is still in the same place and HERA and NEPENTHE II are both currently moored there in Holland. Boat currently in the Chichester area.
