30' \morgan \giles \sailing Boat

Note that yard fees are due for so long as boat is in yard. See in "Additional payment instructions" 30' Morgan Giles 5 berth sailing yacht. Restoration project. Lovely blue water cruising boat with long keel and inboard Yanmar 9hp diesel. Complete with cradle very nice spars and three sails.

Needs refitting i.e. "basic" fitting out in place, including galley , berths, bulkheads. All linings need to be made and trimming. All internal ancillary components need installing, some parts will need making, replacing or refurbishing. The hull though is very good and built to Lloyd's recommendations.

A really nice project for someone. Please note that the boat is in a yard that is full. Thus removal would have to wait until season start. Minimum Jobs to do to sail (motor) away: Step mast as un-stepped at momentBefore stepping advise new VHF antenna, Masthead, Tricolour and anchor lights. Wind vain.Standing rigging looks very good, but advise replacing as no idea how old.Chain plates at bow and stern need re manufacturing and fitting.Pulpit to be refitted as well as bow roller.Transducer hole either filling or fitting transducer.Engine, gearbox and shaft refitting.

This will require new engine mounts. The engine is a Yanmar 1GM10 9.1HP with electric and hand start. It would have been fitted in more recent years and is still in production. As this engine replaced a previous type the engine beds had been adapted to accept the new engine and was not a very tidy job. Thus I have already started the removal of the adaptation and would have replaced with something more purposeful.

Warning the boat is a project. Fantastic opportunity for someone looking for project. Not a working boat and it needs lots of little jobs doing and bits to buy. But perfect for someone who wants to put thier signature too. I have a house to do up and a busy life at work, thus something has to go :-( Note that yard fees are due for so long as boat is in yard.
