30ft Motor Sailor. This is a one of a kind boat. Its started life as a Norwegian lifeboat and was converted to a motor sailor by a navel architect when he retired. The boat is well over engineered and he was seriously clever guy. The keel has been extended, so the boat is solid/stable under sail or power.
The boat is also tiller controlled. The boat has a Thorneycroft marine diesel 1.8. Purpose built marine BMC in old money and parts are still available. The engine runs well and cruises the boat at about 7 knots. The boat had new batteries a year ago and I was informed by the previous owner the he had the wooded mast replaced at the cost of £2500.
The mast is currently down and I have just gave a coat of varnish. The mainsail was also serviced last seasons and is in good condition. The sea toilet was replaced a year ago. The inside sleeps 4 and could by converted to sleep six with ease as it has a seating area and table area which could be converted. The galley also has a cooker on Gimbles and a sink with drainage but no running water.
The boats has a depth, speed and fish finder unit. A GPS that is not wired up at present and a compass. The work/bad bits The GRP hull is in good condition but would benefit from a coat of paint and new anti-foul before it goes back in the water. The deck and cockpit need painted, the deck also has some de lamination of the fiberglass in places, one area has a crack which will need glassed over - The fiberglass matting will come with the boat. The gearbox is a Hurth 2:1 the rear bearing was making noise before I took it out the water, so the boat will be supplied with a replacement Hurth box in good condition.
The roller reefing is a Plazimo rig. This needs some work as the shakle broke in a storm when it was on it mooring in November causing some of the sheaths to bend. I have started straitening them out bout these are available to buy new. The sail was also damaged in the process which is frustrating as it was in mint condition. The some rigging would also benefit from being replaced.
This is a super easy project for somebody with the right skills and time. The last picture with the blue tarp is the boat as she stands now. Boat also has a deck cover and various ropes fenders etc The boat is currently located in Friars Goose Gateshead, Membership may be available but this would be subject to relevant fees and committee approval. I'm not in a rush to sell the boat, so please no silly offers. The boat is being sold as a project, so it will be sold as seen.
My time is limited which is the only reason I am selling, so please only contact or arrange to view if you are seriously interested
