Glaslyn is a sturdy, comfortable boat from Springer Engineering. Built in 1982, she has served as both an all-season live-aboard and a weekend holiday boat. She was purchased last year with the intention to make it our own and live aboard but we are forced to sell her due to unforeseen ill-health. Currently she is out of water and dry docked at a marina on Faversham Creek in Kent; just over one hour from central London by train. Iron Wharf is essentially a ‘do it yourself’ boatyard where boat owners can undertake all kinds of boat building projects, large and small.
The DIY boatyard offers spacious storage ashore or mud berths and moorings alongside a traditional wharf, in a beautiful countryside setting, whilst being just a short walk from all amenities of the charming medieval market town of Faversham in Kent. Thanks to renovations by a former owner, she has a spacious, bright and modern interior. A good layout provides room to live and work at home, if needed, as well as plenty of storage. Glaslyn is being sold fully equipped with all the basic necessities. Substantial maintenance work was completed in 2011, including full waterline re-plating, skin fitting for deck drains and wastes, re-installation of a Valor solid fuel stove, and electrical refit; there are landline sockets and LED lighting fitted throughout.
She is a trouble-free boat, cosy in winter and in summer's unfolding, light and airy. - Galley -Stepping down into the boat, the galley spans the centre aisle. A Morco D61B gas boiler provides hot water instantly. A Vannette gas cooker has four ring hobs and the grill/oven is a Spinflo Midi Prima MKIII. All gas appliances are in excellent working order.
A 12 volt cool box may be plugged in for chilled goods. The sink and worktop were fitted by the former owner; the large water tank is forward and the water pump is also in excellent working order. - Saloon -There is a double bed at the fore end of a centre aisle, followed by open areas on either side (currently filled with books). A fold-down desk is under the starboard side hatch, opposite from the solid fuel stove (tile-lined cavity) and another open area. Bathroom Toilet is a Thetford Porta Potti Qube.
Shower is equipped but not used recently, as the marina has excellent showers available. - Technical and Maintenance -* Glaslyn's hull is in excellent condition for its age. The waterline was entirely re-plated and blacked in 2011, with also a new uxter plate, stank plate, pick up shoe, and weedhatch at that time. She was last blacked and received new anodes in August 2014.* Although she is being sold as a butty(no engine), the stern is sound and an outboard could easily be fitted.* Her exterior paint was in the process of being stripped so a new paint job is much needed - cratch covers at both ends- all domestic equipment included - Marina Services -- Access 24/7 office open 9.00 to 5.00 daily.- Long term and short term moorings alongside our quay in soft mud berths.- Long and short term storage ashore for new builds, refits or temporary layups.- Cranage- driven by skilled and experienced operators, cranes can handle boats up to 16 tons displacement.- Can also arrange cranage for larger vessels.- Dry dock facility for vessels up to 100ft overall.- Tug service.- Electricity, water and diesel supplies.- On site storage units, sheds and containers.- On site toilets, showers and laundry facilities.- Access to many maritime professionals and tradesmen- On site Chandlery, an independent business offering unparalleled support for the DIY er.- On site maritime bookseller most weekends, vast selection of books and charts available.** Storage at the marina is roughly @ 93p/ft/wk (boat length 32 feet) and a discount of 33.33% of the full price applies if payment is made within 31 days ** or buyer can arrange transportIf you have any questions or wish to view please contact mePaypal or alternative payment methods consideredThanks for looking
