For sale is our lovely 36ft Narrowboat 'Boromir', moored at Peter Leonard Marine Newhaven on the southeast coast. We've loved living on her but due to a new arrival in the family we need to get something a bit bigger! She was blacked in September 2017 and new anodes were fitted at the same time. A full hull survey was carried out in July 2016 with a full engine service. She will need a bit of work to make her cruising ready, but is ready to live on straight away.
Built in the mid 1980's, by Dennetts boat builders, who are a very well known and high quality small volume bespoke boat builder. She's a semi trad stern, with waterproof front and rear canopies in good condition. The rear one is a pram type that can be folded down or the sides removed. Recently decorated with an open plan living and kitchen area, shower room, solid fuel stove, double bed. Internal plastic water tank in the bow.
Single gas locker. Morco D61 instantaneous water heater for kitchen sink and shower. The engine is a BMC 1.5 which starts first time and runs really well, although we haven't used her much as she's been in the marina since we bought her. There is a galvanic isolator connected, batteries are 1 start battery, 2 domestic. Moored at Peter Leonard Marine in Newhaven, mooring fees are £300 a month.
The Marina is only only ten minutes walk away from Newhaven train station and buses with links to Brighton and Eastbourne. The town centre, sainsburys, lidl, B&Q and Halfords are all within walking distance. There is also free parking, WC, and is right next to a nature reserve which runs along the river to the neighbouring village of Piddinghoe. She is hooked up to onshore electric and a hose runs along to the communal tap for easy tank fill ups. House prices and renting in the area is so expensive and living on Boromir is a great alternative.
She is perfect for a single person or couple who want to live a simpler, cheaper life in the south east. Thanks for looking :)
