38ft Steel Sailing Yacht / Live Aboard / Project

Here I have for sale a 1989 Robert Tucker R38 steel sailing yacht . A very well respected design that is known for its tough , no nonsense sea worthy ability built for ocean cruising. Featuring a fin keel with large full depth steel plate bilge keels so ideal for drying out . Internal layout consists of forward double cabin / Heads compartment / Open plan saloon with separate Nav station and large galley with lots of storage / Aft double cabin accessed from saloon / Cockpit doghouse with fully enclosed canvas cover . The engine is a Beta 43hp fitted in 2007 just fully serviced and showing less than 50 hours running time A real bonus is the serviced Kabola diesel fired boiler with radiators fitted throughout the accommodation making everything very cosy indeed , ideal for living aboard .

Overall the structural condition is very good with barely any corrosion visible but the external painting requires attention . Internally the condition is very usable and you could move onboard today , she is a very dry boat . In the future some of the linings need replacing The toilet is a chemical model but a new sea toilet is supplied with the boat . The navigation equipment consists of a compass / VHF radio / Raytheon radar / Raystar 590 GPS / Garmin 128 GPS / Navman echo sounder - Log and instrment set / Seafarer echo pilot . All of this equipment appears to power up but is old and not fully tested .

It would probably need replacing if a serious trip was being planned , There are lots of spares with the boat and lots of general equipment from an anchor to a tea spoon . I can't list everything , if you are interested please come and have a look . THE BOAT DOES NOT HAVE A MAST OR RIGGING . The original was damaged and beyond economical repair . If somebody wants a liveaboard or to cruise the french canals then obviously she is ideal as is .
