Hanbury is a 40ft cruiser stern narrowboat, fitted out as a 2 berth. The engine is a Bukh DV20 which is well maintained and has never failed to start. New engine mounts and a new Aquadrive flexible drive shaft were fitted in 2016. The bow gas locker holds 2 x 13kg Calor propane cylinders. The foredeck has a cratch board and cover, new in 2016 and sits over the 150 gallon (approx) fresh water tank.
A stable door set starboard leads into the saloon where the Boatman multifuel stove is fitted. The stove is set on fireproof boards behind the porcelain tiles. Which have an airgap behind to prevent excess heat build up to the boat linings for safety. There are 2 worn but comfortable leather reclining chairs opposite a side table and drawers currently used as a t.v table. A double radiator is set between the armchairs.
The galley has gloss white units with a circular stainless bowl and Force 4500 stainless steel cooker. Opposite is a Shoreline 12volt refrigerator. There are ample store cupboards to stock Hanbury for long term cruising or full time living as well as leisure use. The full height tiled shower area adjoins some useful storage, the shower room also houses a corner basin and Thetford toilet all set on a fully tiled floor. A double radiator opposite the shower room entry is set between floor standing cupboards.
The rear cabin houses the calorifier. The 2 single berths could be made upa as a large double, Rear steps lead onto the cruiser deck. Either side of the steps are garment hanging. While the other side has a cupboard housing the solar controller, fuse boxes and central heating header tank . Plus the 1500 watt modified sine wave inverter.
A third radiator sits on the rear bulkhead behind the steps leading up to the rear deck. Steel deck plates on the cruiser deck allow access to the engine bay. Here you'll find the 3 domestic and 1 starter battery and the diesel boiler which heats 3 radiators and domestic hot water via the calorifier. We have not had a hull survey recently. The last one was commissioned by the previous owner before we bought the vessel.
Originally built for hire, vulnerable areas were built at time of build. And the base plate is anything between 12 & 25mm oversized all round, which prevents the bottom corners from rubbing away against the bank. We've had Hanbury for 8 years, our 6th boat over 35 years and are ready for new adventures. Viewing is possible anytime by arrangement. The boat is advertised elsewhere.
