40ft Narrowboat Project With Mooring Springfield Marina

Description Sale of Olwen. The boat is a part finished project with the substantial work completed. Olwen was built by Fernie Fabrications and has good lines and is a pleasure to cruise. She is ready to be fitted out and is a blank canvas. She was purchased in a dilapidated state and has be stripped out cleaned, de-rusted and painted before being insulated as can be seen on the photos.

There is a recent survey available and all the work advised has been done including welding and overplating etc. At a cost of nearly £4000. She has been sorted out internally as well so there will be no further need for work on the hull. The front cratch cover has been replaced in steel to allow a greater internal area. She is now water tight and waiting to be completed.

Olwen was blacked about 2 years ago following the overplating. Olwen has a permanent, transferable mooring in the highly sought after Springfield Marina. The marina is on the river Lee with Walthamstow marshes behind and Springfield park opposite. The mooring has its own garden area next to the towpath as can be seen in the photos. The photos shows the mooring and materials currently stored there for the ongoing fit out.

As Olwen is moored on the River Lee a widebeam of same length but broader could be placed there should the new owner wish to upsize in the future. NB. The photos show Olwen temporarily moored inside the marina while work is being carried out. Springfield Marina is a fully functioning marina with a chandler and workshop and would be able to complete work on the boat if required by the new owner. Nearest transport is Clapton with plenty of bus routes Londonwide. Springfield marina has its own volunteer-run bar with regular activities, a decent mini chandlery and brand new laundry and shower facilities.

It's a quiet, peaceful marina in the most divine natural location. You will literally have wildlife at your door ! Water and access to the modern shower block and facilities is included. Mooring fees are currently around £286 per month. You also need a River Licence as boat is moored in the River Lee at approx.
