40ft Steel Narrowboat, currently de-commissioned sold as a PROJECT boat, in need of attention to the stern counter and hull, diesel tank and gas compartment. I brought from an owner who has had since 1974 and only selling as another opportunity has arisen that needs our full attention, so no time to renovate. It is de-commissioned. It is currently in our yard in Telford Shropshire after we lifted out of water. The boat is up in the air on stilts, so inspection of the hull etc.
Is easily accessible. Viewing recommended. Also in included is sale is a full set of new windows double glazed with seals – as new. Full detail below. We can offer transport included in sale price within 50 miles of TF7 – this would include the loading at TF7, but you would be responsible to organise off load.
Additional cost will apply after 50 Miles - to be advised if required.Collection also welcomed where we can load for you. The engine is a Lister SW2 keel cooled 15 HP, (original handbook included) with manual lever operated gear box. It has a dynamo and starter motor fitted. It is housed in the engine room, where the boards have been constructed in such a way that when removed, access to both sides of the engine is available. The hull was built by Stone Boat builders and is a ' truncated vee ' design, having a flat bottom of approx 2 ft and either side angling up at 15 degrees, making mooring in shallow water easier than with a complete flat bottom.
It was purchased from Kingfisher Line who originally fitted it out and it was used as a hire boat for 18 months, before we bought it. An interesting feature is the decent headroom which along the centre is 78". Over the years the previous owners made numerous alterations including extending the cabin to include a fibreglass engine room (approx 46" long) having a large fiberglass hatch, giving an opening of 21" x 45", with double doors to the rear deck. The front deck (approx 40" long) gives access to hatch space under the bow, having double doors opening to 26" wide x 19-1/2" high. Removal of the deck boards reveals the large galvanised water tank which is 60" wide x 14" deep x 30" front to back.
There are 2 large removable inspection/cleaning covers bolted in the top. The galley comprises stainless steel single drainer sink, Calor Gas Courier cooker with 3 rings, grill and oven, also Vaillant calor gas heater. Neither the cooker nor the water heater have been used for some time and both should be checked by an authorised engineer before use. The water heater has also been drained. A solid fuel stove with cast iron flue and traditional chimney is fitted A cratch is included in the sale, which will require fitting.
There are supports built in the front and rear cabins that will take a standard folding settee or bed (not included). The rear cabin has a removable panel (with brown edging) which is useful when working on the engine or to bring large items into the cabin. When removed there is a space of 25-1/2"wide x 45"high.
