I am selling for my friend his classic Fairey Marine Swordsman boat. This is one of four made in the early 1970's. Please follow the link below to see the heritage and quality of this boat: http://www.faireyownersclub.co.uk/default.asp? Content=boats&type=sword&photo=10 She is currently lying on her mooring on the River Axe at HJ Mears & Son Boatbuilders, Seaton, Devon. The photos of her moored off Lyme Regis were back in 2011.
The full spec is below:42' Fairey Marine Swordsman, one of four made19723 owners since new and first launched in 2004engines are twin Cummins diesel 185hp on shaft drive with P bracket (low hours)4x stainless steel fuel tanksfresh water tanksleep up to sixshower room, galley and headshot moulded mahogany Agba laminationsshe is structurally sound with running engines but needs renovation to get her to the condition she deservestwin rudders on Whitlock torsional rod steeringglass and aluminium windows throughoutcapstan on foredeckIf you are interested in her then you probably know what you're looking at. These boats sell themselves although this one does require work. She has sat on her mooring for several years without use, other than running of the engines on a regular basis. She needs someone with money and/or boatbuilding skills and a mooring where she can be used as intended once complete. The potential buyer will sensibly need to view before committing to anything.
These boats are rare but once complete would market for about £100,00-125,000. She (along with her three sister vessels) was the largest Fairey boat ever produced. Thankyou for looking and feel free to ring 0phone or e-mail enquiries. She will not be removed from classifieds board until a significant deposit is paid, and crane-age organised. If you are really keen there may be a possibility of part exchange with a smaller boat or what have you?
