42ft Cruiser Stern Steel Narrow Boat

For sale - 42ft narrow boat with cruiser stern. Construction - all steel made by Springer of Market Harborough. Fitted with 3 cylinder 1100cc Mitsubishi engine which was new just 8 years ago. The boat is moored close to Leicester and was built in 1981. It is fitted out with sleeping accommodation for 11 people.

It has seats inside with lockers underneath and the seats convert into bunk beds....a total of 11 beds. The boat has been used since its launch 1n 1981 as a youth and community boat. Sadly the Management Committee have to sell because of changing circumstances. The boat is currently still in use but will be taken out of service as soon as we find a buyer. The boat has been regularly maintained and during the last 12 years it has been taken out of the water every two or three years for maintenance, repair and blacking.

It was last out of the water in March 2016 when the stern gear was replaced and some welding work was done to the counter and hull. We were informed at that time that there were several parts of the hull where the metal was becoming thin and required attention. It was recommended that we take the boat out of the water at the end of 2016 and consider having the hull overplated. Regrettably we do not have funds to carry out this work and so we need to sell the boat. The boat has a current license and insurance and we would be happy to help a buyer move the boat depending location. It has a fully fitted kitchen with hot and cold water, wash area with wash basin and cassette toilet. The sale includes all the equipment on the boat that you will need, eg, windlass, poles, life jackets, pans, crockery, cutlery, gas cylinders etc. The price is a guide price and we are willing to consider an offer. We would also be pleased to negotiate a sale to a similar community boat organisation to ourselves.
