46 Ft Steel Narrow Boat Project Live Aboard Canal Boat

I bought this boat from a friend who lived on it for 20 years. My plan was re-fit it as a live aboard for myself but I am struggling to find the time as other priorities have come along.So, here is a chance to buy a nice project boat.There’s plenty of work to do but essentially you’ll be buying:• A solid 46ft all steel narrow boat with a good hull survey that was commissioned in July 2017• Built in 1985 by JS Marine, 10/6/4mm steel construction.• Boat Safety certificate valid until 2021• Powerful 48hp Perkins engine that is well maintained and just serviced (easy to get parts for)• A new Morso multi fuel stove (fitted)• Domestic size Calor gas four burner hob, grill and oven• Instant hot water Calor gas boiler (old but works fine)• Stern and cratch covers (only one year old)• Starter battery plus three leisure batteries Approx 2/3rds of the inside of the boat is still boarded and insulated with a basic functioning galley in place. I have ripped out the rear boards 1/3rd back to the steel, this currently needs some cleaning off of surface rust and treating before insulation and re-boarding can begin.The pipe-work that supplied the bathroom is still in place and easy to connect to.The steel around the two porthole windows is corroded but the steel around the other windows is fine.• A new hatch is required.• Hull survey below the water line shows very little pitting on the sides,• The 10mm base-plate is pitted but still has plenty of thickness (6mm steel remaining in the deeper pits).• A new prop-shaft coupling is currently being fitted, mechanically this boat is good.• Stored on hard standing at Glasson Marina on the Lancaster Canal.If you are serious about a project come and have a look.Tel Matt on: 0phone
