chargersShore power victron isolation inverterBoat is set up to run of batteries, Generator or shore power or combination of allBoat has sat for 2 years so needs a bit of tlc but its perfectly able to be moved on to straight away as everything worksBoat was set up to use a super silent Honda cube 3kw generator fitted in a box on the back but it was stolen recently so this will need to be addedThe generator runs the hot water and any heavy electrical equipment like the microwave and battery chargers so you will need one if your not connected to a mains shore power supplyWill also need a battery bank of your choice as the old ones have diedLast out of the water 4 years ago when it had new anodes and a re paintThere are no patches, Welded plates or any welding at all on the hullIts all original and as far as i know in good orderI have pictures of the hull out of the waterHas a mobile phone booster system fitted so you can get excellent phone connection for Netflix TV and computers etcI had unlimited Vodaphone connection which was great giving a connection to rival a broadband system in a houseThe solar panels if you fit all 4 will give you near 1kw of power on a sunny day and could be upgraded to more modern higher power ones if you wanted toI spent 25 thousand pounds on this boat fitting it out Has a new boat safety certificate and new extinguishers As you can see from pictures its charging the batteries from the solar panels and they are full at 27 volts You can also see that the inverter is working as it should Boat has an interesting history and was probably one of the very first boats converted to leisureThe hull was built at Harland and Wolf in Liverpool some time in the 1950s as a grain barge and was used on the Mersey canal as a tow barge Was later converted and a top fitted on to use as a canal boatDue to its commercial life and age it has many dents and scratches on the hull but the steel it was made from was very likely left over from the war and is excellent qualityAnd far better than the steel used on modern canal boats hullsWill add more info shortly and pictures but happy to answer honestly and questions you may have I have just spent t quite a bit of time doing the boat up inside and will upload some new pictures shortly Boat is at Shepperton upon Thames in Middlesex and has access to central London, grand union, kennet and avon, etc canals HULL, Surveys and welding facts For those constantly asking about a survey and the ins and outs of getting oneAnd a short guide to all things galvanic To start with you do not need a survey to use and or operate the boat or any boatThird party cover is available where you don't need a surveyHowever its good to know things are in good order and a survey increases the price of a boat It is not a straightforward process and can also vary surveyor to surveyorBear in mind i myself was a surveyor for 3 years at one point and have 30 plus years experience in the boat trade being a marine engineer, Boatbuilder and Boatyard operatorAnd i have been more than happy without a survey on the boat for the 20 plus years i have owned it Boat had a survey in 2001 and passed ok and was last out of the water 4 years ago and visually there was no change since 2001 when last surveyedI replaced the anodes at this time but no other work was required on the hullThe stern gear, rudder, prop and shaft was also fineI have pictures of the hull from this time and a couple are above in the pictures sectionI have never blacked the hull as it has a thick coating of calcium over it and this protects the hull just as well as tar and if not much betterThe hull from outside is in good orderThis is most likely due the the hull having been made from very good quality steel and the fact that since ive owned the boat its not been kept in a marinaMarina boats suffer very badly from electrolysis and galvanic action due to shore power stray currants and proximity to other canal boats and steel I am currently selling the boat at a cheaper price to compensate for the fact that it is being sold WITHOUT a surveyAs this will cost £1,000.00 minimum to carry out and takes time to sort out The idea here is that someone buys the boat and then goes and gets it surveyed (If they wanted to) and just carry out whatever the surveyor wants(If anything)Just go into it with a budget to fix things if needed, And remember it may not need anythingThis is the SAME THING as someone asking to pay to have it done as above but more simple and straight forward and doesn't waste everyone's time and moneyThe buyer then gets a new fresh survey on the boat with any serious work if needed carried out increasing the value of the boat considerablyThe increase in value would easily cover any costs to have any work carried out at the price i am askingAnd if NO work was needed then an instant profit would be realised Grab a bargain while you can I am a marine engineer/Boatbuilder with over 30 years experience in
