Achilles 24 Sailing Yacht Boat

Great example of this highly regarded sailing yacht. Designed by Chris Butler these small but tough offshore cruisers are far more capable than they might appear with many Atlantic crossings under their belts. This is a well-loved example that has had some kit added which makes her easily sailed single handed, as I do regularly. She has a roller reefing on both the foresail and the main (Facnor) which can all be used from the cockpit, a tiller clutch and is light on the winches. She is the triple keel variety so she has the advantage of being able to dry out.

She comes with a 4-stroke 6hp Tohatsu Sail Drive Outboard which is always kept upright and was serviced 6 months ago and has a separate fuel tank. Starts on first pull and more than capable of shifting her along using a nifty well in the cockpit (easier to control as it’s forward of the rudder). She has an autohelm but I admit I’ve never used it. She comes with two foresails, a main and a spinnaker (with pole), all in good condition. She had a new spray hood, spray dodgers and cushions throughout last year and down below she is a nice place to be.

She has four berths, a camping style gas stove and a sink with tap. She basically comes with everything you need onboard, all lines, anchor, fenders winch handles, compass, Standard Horizon VHF radio, Nasa depth gauge, battery metre, USB charging points. Currently has a marina birth on the River Crouch until April. Happy for this birth to come with the boat as part of the sail. I’ve had so much fun in this boat but am planning a family and simply won’ t have the time to sail her as much as I do now so it’s time for someone else to enjoy her.
