Albatross A Series Classic Speedboat

My fully restored Albatross A Series Sport is for sale. As anyone who knows about the history of Albatross Marine will be aware there was a fire at the factory which destroyed most of the records so the exact year of manufacture is unknown but since 105 A Series boats were built between 1960 and 1965 and my boat is number A27 it is reasonable to estimate its date as around 1962! The boat has been fully restored, it was originally fitted with a Ford 1500 GT engine (pre-crossflow) this was upgraded to a 1600cc cross-flow in the late 1960s (all the correct Albatross marinization parts for the original engine fit a crossflow. As I intended to race the boat the engine has been upgraded by being bored out +0.060 with a GT head, a Kent 224 high-torque camshaft and a pair of Dellorto DCHL40 carburettors on a specially designed manifold and electronic ignition. The trailer was also fully reconditioned with new suspension units, new wheels, tyres and wheel bearings.

Sadly owing to serious knee problems, resulting in a number of operations I have not only been unable to race the but also use it very much so sadly Dorothy is now for sale.
