Albatross A Series Speed Boat, Coventry Climax Fwb

Albatross A series with Coventry Climax FWB EngineDue to circumstance I am unable to complete this project so have made the painful decision to sell. I have had the boat a number of years and have been gathering the parts to build a top spec A series with FWB Coventry Climax Engine. If you are looking at this item I am sure you aware of Albatross's and Coventry Climax engines so I will not bore you with their history.When I bought the boat it was complete other than missing the engine, so all main parts of the boat are stamped with the same numbers as it came from the factory. The hull has been stripped and is remarkably dent free other than one on the very point of the bow about 25mm down from the deck, although this is fairly minor.The engine in the photo has been assembled as a mock up, all parts other than the block are included in the sale as this is a fire pump block not an FWB. The FWB block shown in photos requires boring to suit the new Westwood FWB liners and the engine will require assembling.

Please note there are only 3 FWB pistons and 2 Carillo rods so further items are required to complete. The sump and end cover on the engine are the correct parts for the Albatross Coventry Climax engine. The oil pump shown in the photo is the higher capacity automotive version. All other components are present to build the engine, although the head is not the automotive version. The exhaust manifold is custom made from stainless steel and has water injection ports for cooling the system.

Just to list the cost of a few of the items purchased for the engine so far, Block £650, Liners £400, Oil pump £200, Exhaust manifold £500, twin 11/2 SU Carbs with FWA inlet £400, FWB Crankshaft £800, Albatross sump and end cover £650 and the list goes on.... Dials and switches etc are mainly new or good condition used items with the exception of the fuel gauge. There is no steering wheel with the boat, but there is the Albatross centre badge. Original toughened glass windscreen is included though not shown in photos.There is a used climax propeller shown in the photos which has some minor damage, but the sale also includes a second new twin blade climax propeller. There are various other ancillary items included such as starter motor, dynamo, distributor, gasket set etc. I have original seat foam and some panels from the seat covers for reference and templates and all the trim parts for the dashboard.

I have a roll of vinyl and some white piping which I will include in the sale.Trailer has recently been stripped ready for repainting and is road worthy.
