THIS MUST SELL QUICKLY, HENCE THE LOW PRICEThis beautiful 53 ft gaff rigged ketch, live-aboard, Blue water cruiser is a large and very comfortable ship and very well equipped. This is an Admiralty historic ship, commissioned by Lawrence of Arabia and built in 1944 by the British power boat company for the Admiralty as a high speed launch (HSL) ( off shore rescue boat) to rescue downed RAF pilots in WW2.Constructed from Burmese Teak on oak she is a very strong well built vessel.She was converted into a ketch in the 1970s and has a Gaff main sail, a gaff rigged mizzen and 2 head sails. Powered by a V8 Dorman marine diesel engine.She is equipped with, central heating, air conditioning, solar panel, HRO reverse osmosis water maker, 3.5KW generator, inverter, hot water system, new solid oak and teak flooring, navigation equipment (chart plotter gps, JRC radar, depth sounder, compass, VHF radio) In recent years she has travelled all across Europe. She is almost 20 Metres (64 foot) including the bowsprit, 16.5 Metres hull length, 4 Metres Beam and has a Draft of 1.5 Metres. Weight 25 tonnes.She has had many thousands of pounds spent on her:with a complete interior refit and has recently been taken out of the water, had a survey on the hull which showed the hull to be in good condition with no rot.
Lots of work has been done to the hull: coated in epoxy, fibreglass and finished in an epoxy blue marine paint, new anodes, prop cleaning, engine serviced, reconditioned starter motor,She is currently on a permanent pontoon mooring in Poole harbour, Dorset.
