Why not have something different on the beach, sea or rivers or lakes, this year. Actually pretty much any terrain. I've got a four seater one and I went from Donaghadee to Portpatrick, 17.5 miles away in Scotland, and back, flat calm day and took just over an hour each way and it used 7 litres of fuel out of a 30 litre tank. That was my previous hovercraft, this snapper has the same engine. Be different and have more fun this year, jetski’s are like asses, everyone's got one.
They can race you, the big ones may even beat you but they can’t follow you out of the water and up the beach. If there is a mm of water over a a rock or reef then this will go over it without touching it. The skirt segments are easy to replace and it’ll still go with a quarter of them missing, three push on clips and two cable ties, ill even include spare skirt segments but they last quite a while. You can turn it off in the water and it’ll float like a boat so you can fish from it. Leave engine running on tick over and the vibrations will draw fish and other wildlife in, they’ll come close cause there is no prop or moving parts in the water.
Better than a boat, you dont need jetties or even slipways, dont need to moor it any beach will do. No messing around reversing trailers into the water and untying and all the crap that goes with a boat. Can be slid of the trailer by one person or lifted off with two. Set it down in the car park, gear up get in, switch on, drive it across the car park down the slipway or beach and off you go. If the sea is rough, go on grass, sand, tarmac, almost any surface.
They are insane on snow. So be different. I used to have the big fancy jet ski, tried a hovercraft and I’m on my third one now. It’s fantastic fun. British Hovercraft Company Snapper single seat hovercraft, not even a year old.
IT DOES NOT COME WITH A TRAILER, YOU WILL HAVE TO GET A SUITABLE VAN OR TRAILER TO TRANSPORT ITJust 2.9m long, you cannot help but smile when you get behind the controls. It's quite simply a huge amount of fun. Whether it's belting around a grassy field or exploring mudflats and estuaries, the Snapper is the perfect, fun vehicle unlike anything you've ever driven before. The Snapper is extremely easy to drive - which is why it's the hovercraft of choice for virtually every UK hovercraft driving events businesses. But it's much more than that - it's fully marine ready, with stainless steel fittings, marine grade wiring and enough flotation built in that it will float even if completely swamped.
The Snapper is ideal if you want a first craft to learn in. It's so small that we've seen kids of 11 years old driving them (with adequate training/safety gear of course) and can take up to 130kgs maximum weight depending on conditions. Noise levels are very low, and using a simple 23bhp 4-Stroke engine means that it's very cheap to run - no more than approx 5-6 litres an hour. Skirt segments can be individually replaced so if you do damage one, then it's literally a one minute job to change it. The whole idea of the Snapper is that its fun - and that includes making it very easy to service and look after.
Doesn't come with a trailer, so you will require one to take it away, but does come with some spares. These Hovercrafts are built to the highest standard and just over £10k new. Its only been run a couple of times so skirt segments are like new. Electric key start engine starts on the button. Lifts straight up and you are off.
Small so its easy to drive. I dont really use it, was an impulse buy but I've already got the bigger 4 seat Marlin hovercraft so clearing some space.
